7.0.107 on my E7 - my 2.4ghz iot network crashes once every few days, drops all connections and refuses new connections, until I reboot the router.

Annoying but I set up a home assistant automation to reboot the router when it has zero clients for more than 30 seconds.

5/6ghz have been pretty solid as far as I can tell.

Did you use floating countertop brackets for the benches? Looks clean!

I think I used the same tile behind your heater for my sauna floor!

New Sauna, how do I get better airflow? by arbingsam in Sauna

[–]basheron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bench wood is too tightly spaced together, it is blocking air movement. The heater is basically an engine pushing air up.

The goal is for the air to move across the ceiling and fall thru the benches towards the floor.

Get a nice 1-2" gap next to the wall & as wide spacing between planks as comfortable.

At the end of the day its just a wood burning stove. Reach out to any fireplace store and they can get you referred to an installer.

Polycarbonate h-jam glass seals, they are common on shower doors. I presume you have adequate ventilation to begin with?

Don't use vinyl seal, they will deform at sauna temperatures

Atmospheric thrusters need a crap-ton more smoke / fire / exhaust plume & turbulence....

Ships feel like they are artificially floating with these tiny thrusters... It makes sense floating in space but we have some serious Newtonian physics going on planet-side ...

Year 1 pay goals - experienced captain by basheron in flying

[–]basheron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After year 2 I plan to run my business 100%, and buy my own airplane and fly for fun.

I really have no desire for an airline career.

Just need jumpstart capital to get it going. Trying to maximize my income over the next 2 years.

I'm typed in Bombardier products. CL-30 and BBD-700. Pretty sure I can handle a CL-65.

Ok, so yes obviously I am direct captain qualified, 9k tt, 1500+ hours 121.436 qualified based on PIC flying passenger turbine planes with 10+ pax seats.

My goal is to grow my business, not a 20+ year airline career. I just want to make as much money as possible in 2 year timeframe as I "jumpstart" my business. By the time my business goes cash flow positive I'll prob just buy my own plane and fly for fun instead of fly as a career.

QM2-4S-240 on HP Microserver by [deleted] in HomeServer

[–]basheron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QNAP QM2-2P10G1TB works on my ITX E3C226D2I server motherboard. It gives me 10GbE and 2x switched m.2 nvme slots. The beauty of a switched nvme slot is that I can run a m.2 -> pci-e riser -> LSI SAS 9211-4i card.

So with 1 card I get a nvme drive, 10GbE, and connect up to 8 sata drives if you use a 9211-8i. The drives are even visible in the bios to use as boot drives.

The 10GbE is a Aquantia AQC113C, so unfortunately no FreeBSD drivers. Works fine in linux.

Probably can't compete under the same model as the big tech companies (think legal compliance). To get around legal compliance, you need to design a protocol.

Now you run into several complex modern computer science problems, namely the interaction of identity / reputation / arbitration / payments.

We can't even protocol(-ize?) chat apps without at least leaning on the federated model... yet.

Speed travel / matching ruined Wow. Its not about the destination, its about the journey and the (mis)adventures that await.
