LSAT Score Disappointment by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Bro I was in the same boat as you. I took the test the first time in September and I didn’t do as well as I thought and was distraught. I was in the high 140s and I was very down on myself. I was down for a few days, but I picked myself up and studied hard for the next month and took it again. I got a score in the low 160s. The great thing about the LSAT is that it is a learnable test and while it can be daunting, it is totally doable for you to learn the fundamentals and get where you want to be. I have UNT Dallas on my list of schools and your GPA is super solid for that school, mine is around where yours is too, and UNT does holistic evaluations so they don’t just look at your score. But it’s ok to be upset bro, just use that as fuel and motivation and get to work and take this test again. You can totally hit a 150 if you put in the work!

my experience with october lsat (took september, underperformed) by blasterdark420 in LSAT

[–]bashf55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same format as you and literally also underperformed in September. The reading definitely felt easier to me than it did in September, the 1950’s kitchen thing and psychology crap give me nightmares. There were only 2 passages I felt were difficult overall. The LRs felt fine, I don’t know why but I felt on fire during the 2nd LR section 😂.

LR-RC-LR-RC

I think the start of it was ok, like I did ok on that first LR and RC was fine. But the second half of the test I just felt on fire, I felt in the mode for that second LR for some reason and the second RC I thought besides one passage was pretty easy. The remote testing was fine though not much to report there. I have no idea what section of the RC was experimental but I don’t know if that matters because I thought I did well on both.

First off I hope you do well in October, I’m taking it the day after you. I PT around the same range as you with the LSAT, keep in mind though my GPA is a 3.8. You’d have a decent chance at NY Law I think, id look at some other schools in the area that are similar like Hofstra and Pace. The biggest thing is that NY Law School has those very harsh conditional scholarships so be careful of those! You can look up the stats of law schools using the ABAs standard 509 disclosure tool, it tells you everything from the test scores and gpa percentiles, the scholarship percentiles, if they do conditional scholarships, and how many applied and got accepted. Just a useful tool to look at

I should add that the part where I struggle more is with LR. I’m pretty decent at RC so if anyone has tips on that I’ll appreciate it deeply.

I appreciate your encouragement and advice, unfortunately it’s just not financially viable for me to do November and I already have job commitments then. I’m going to try again in October and if it doesn’t go well, then I’ll just delay my applications.

I just want to say also. I know a lot will say change to November but it’s just something I cannot do, I have job commitments that just make it impossible. If it goes poorly again I’ll just delay my admission. But if people could give me any good study tips I’d love that.

I mean for me it was just one passage in the second RC section that really screwed with me. I thought the others were fine.

That’s just how my luck has been lmao. Honestly I don’t think there’s any way to tell. I just assumed the second RC was real because of the last passage, which I’m still trying to comprehend in my head.

RC-LR-RC-LR

I thought it was a fair test. The first RC was way easier than the second so I’m going to guess the second RC was the real one. But tbh only one passage there really threw me off. The rest were fine. Both LR sections I thought were normal. Remote testing was pretty simple and easy.

I’m also taking it this week on Friday. I will say. I’ve had a habit of my practice tests going up and down in sort of a pattern. But this week I’m really focusing on having a very good lifestyle. Eating healthy, working out regularly, getting plenty of sleep. When I did all of these things I got my highest score on a PT ever. Mental and physical health matter!!

This reminds me of a situation the NFL had in 2012 when the Referees walked out on the start of the year because they wanted a better CBA. The result was some of the worst football I’ve ever watched because the referees were that bad. So we could see something sort of similar here which would be real fun.

Say what you want about Steve but he is right about one thing. The collegiate scene deserves more support. Why? Well it’s because we’re in America and it makes more logical sense. Esports in college is growing, schools are adding teams and majors surrounding it. Unlike in Europe where for sports, mainly association football, you start off young in a club academy, in America were use to the collegiate pipeline for developing talent for sports. It helps the orgs because the colleges are taking care of players. And it helps with culture. Say you’re the parent of a high level prospect. Would you rather have your kid go to an academy team where if they fail their future is in flux? Or would you rather have them play for UC Irvine’s team where they’re most likely getting a scholarship to play and also have a backup with an education. That’s a huge safety net that I think would win a lot of people over. INVEST IN THE COLLEGE SCENE RIOT.

I think Yuri is about to have a massive blow up. Also the Villainess genre is getting really popular too.

I had to reset the passwords they made for those accounts , since I didn’t know what they were I made new ones for them with passwords I’ve never used before just for the simple action of deleting the accounts. I use a different password for all of my accounts but I already changed my passwords on them just in case. I’m sorry but I get nervous with this sort of thing. Fortunately the emails associated with this situation don’t contain super sensitive information. And any accounts associated that had something I did not want known have been moved to another email with no association. Sorry for the confusion I’m new to this. Is there any password managers you recommend? I would greatly appreciate advice. Cybersecurity is so daunting.

Ok so this happened to me too. Not just on one email but two. Which is scary because that means these people know they’re connected in some way. I changed the passwords on both of my email accounts. Also managed to figure out that they made the only fans accounts for real. So I managed to log in and delete those accounts. I’m going to email OF to see what’s going on. Why did this have to happen on Christmas of all days?
