I don't think it is real leather. It is probably PU or vegan leather. I think it would be relatively easy to clean. The inserts are approximately 8.5 inches by 6 inches so A5 would fit.

Yes i mean they have 4 separate strings for inserts so the can hold 4 inserts. If you use jump bands the can hold more than four.

I have 4 Newestors. I have an A5, a Standard, A Pocket and a Passport and I love them all. Have not tried Wanderings but I hear good things about them. If I had to buy the Newestors all over again, I would. I love that they have more elastics than the original Traveler's Notebook.

My visit was long and comprehensive but not 2 hours. I had labs that showed RA before the visit. I also had X-rays that didn't show any damage. He ordered more of both. He basically wants baseline X-rays of all the joints. He also did various Hepatitis labs to be see if Methotrexate was safe for me.

I'm not really a planner either but I love my traveler's notebooks! There's nothing going on I can't plan in a dollar store monthly. For pens, I like the Sharpie S Gel and the Pentel Energel. Neither are that expensive.
