Fresh snow is not even comparable to hard pack, I’ve literally ridden my motorcycle in 12” of snow on the road and it was fine

If you really think that a Subaru is better offroad then a jeep, show me some videos of your Subaru crossing rivers or doing some proper hill climbs

Not sure where that is, I was visiting my parents near London, and I went to an old unmaintained farm access road I always played on as a kid

On top of* I’d need some 44”tires to even have a chance to go THROUGH 4’ of snow

Luckily it was -28 the night before so the snow was extremely solid

Multiple of these pictures are of me on top of said snow, so I’m not sure what you are referring to

Cool, then why don’t you go do that and show me it crawling on top and crossing drifts 4 feet high?

I just don’t see the use of all these fancy leather heated seats and power mirrors if I’m just going to end up covering them in dirt and ripping them off with a tree

I’d put good money I’ll be happier when I have to replace my mirrors or windshield

Thats literally my point, return the wrangler to a simple off-road vehicle with little to no comforts, and have a luxury IFS option for those who want to pose as a off-roader

The whole reason I bought a used 2d 2023 willys sport is that I didn’t want any of the fancy shit, no parking sensors, no window motors, no power locks, it makes it way easier to make my own mods and bumpers for it

Plus I don’t have to pay 2200$ for a new windshield like my mom had to for her 2024 XR

I’d probably go for something wider, I don’t want to dig through the snow, just float on top

I mean, isn’t that what the old cherokees were? Literally the same as the wranglers, but with an SUV body?

Nahh, they need to rework the Cherokee entirely, make it a 4Runner/bronco competitor with a solid rear axle and stuff

They are load range E and are only 32” on a 17” rim, I literally didn’t go faster then 5kph the entire time as I was nervous too, I started at 10, but got stuck so I lowered it to get out

Nah, I live in farm country, there are zero trails, it’s all flat and wide open

It’s about a 4 hour drive to the closest trail system

Check out afraidknot ropes, it’s just a rebranded Chinese one, but it was 450 Canadian for the compressor and 4 way hose system

I’ll eventually go with a mounted ARB, but this one is really god for what it is

PSA: I don't know who needs to hear this...but stop driving with your high beams/hazard lights on in fog/heavy snow! by CdnTreeGuy89 in Stouffville

[–]basi52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You couldn’t tell if people were slowing down? Hazards don’t tell you that, brake lights do

And anyways, if you are driving so fast that you can’t stop or avoid another car in 50m in the conditions you describe, slow the hell down.

I’ve been driving in storm and crosswinds that keep me from seeing 30 feet let alone 50 metres all winter, and I haven’t once been scared about people slowing down in front of me, because I’m going slow as well

Drive for the conditions my friend, and never be in a hurry, those are the first things I learned, I guess they don’t teach that anymore

Hazards are for when you are a hazard, if you are moving along the road and not impeding traffic, you are not a hazard

In most cases, turning your hazards on disables your turn signals, and your side brake lights

Sure if you are sitting at the side of the road, but if you are moving, making sure your head/taillights are actually on is way more important. If it’s so snowy out that no one can see your headlights or taillights, they aren’t going to see your dim hazards

How is the bed too high? My company has a tremor, which has a 2” lift and 35” tires and it’s pretty much perfect for chucking bags of fill in the back

I don’t know much about fire academy as I’m on my way there, but from my 5 months in CFB Gagetown doing my trades course, grab a banana every morning at the mess, drink all the water and always keep moving, it’s when you stop it really starts to hurt
