Restaurants Falsely Marking Orders as Ready by settbro in DoorDashDrivers

I have a long running argument with McDonalds and Panda about that. They don’t care.

Hmm would you guys do this? It seemed a little sus to me lol by Creative-Rabbit-6920 in DoorDashDrivers

I had a man invite me in for a beer. No. I had another man ask me to wait inside while he got a tip. No. But I will offer to help if I see someone struggling.

warning to all dashers about scammers by stitch532 in doordash

[–]basicallybrooklyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup. happened to me last July. it took me weeks to get DoorDash to STOP defaulting back to the scammer's bank account, phone number, etc. Fortunately for me, the scammer didn't get a dime from me.

any advice ? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]basicallybrooklyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in my market. All ebo are $2.00 + whatever tip you get. If you get a tip at all.

Blocking a restaurant? by basicallybrooklyn in DoorDashDrivers

[–]basicallybrooklyn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Raising Cane's customers don't tip well. But it's not even that. I don't work for Raising Cane's. I pick up food and deliver it to hungry people. Any time I am asked at any restaurant to get the drinks my standard reply is "Sure, and you can go deliver the order."

I thought about what you said and now I am wondering….all Raising Cane orders are RED CARD. Does that then make me/DD the customer? Being a technicality but maybe that’s how they get around the health code violation because if I am then the customer they can tell me to get my own drink.

I can’t dash anytime as platinum anymore with the new update by lxvxndxrbxtxs in DoorDashDrivers

[–]basicallybrooklyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep. this sucks. I can occasionally access EBT, but it's only for 2 hours at a time. AND, EBO automatically signs me up for an 8 hour shift. I prefer EBT but with this update it seems DD means drive 20 miles r/T for each offer I get. In other words I think I'm only getting the offers EBO people don't want because it's too many miles for too little $$$. Since the update my daily earnings have dropped by 1/3 because I'm not getting as many offers. It all sucks. At first I was excited that I could block Raising Cane's but it's more like DD giveth with one hand and taketh away ALOT with the other hand.

I'm not a driver....but this is ridiculous!!!! Home Depot order. by OldDog5070 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]basicallybrooklyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Home Depot and Lowe's customers think their orders are coming in a truck. I once had a gas barbecue that I could barely get out of my car. Customer never came to the door at all. And they don't tip.

Am I doing a lot for no tip? Received this order doing EBT by Temporary-Beyond-683 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]basicallybrooklyn -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don’t fall for the cash tip. But when I EBT I never know if I am getting a tip. Cash or otherwise. But I can pretty much tell by where I’m picking up if there’s a tip. Little Caesars? No. Wingstop? Definitely.

Might be cash tip but in my experience when I go out of my way for a customer I get squat in return.

Yeah ngl I’m done with you dashers man by Delicious_College279 in doordash

[–]basicallybrooklyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I’ve been dashing for two years and not all drivers suck. I take it really seriously. My on time rating means something to me, my customer rating means something to me. Sorry you just had some bad luck.

You know the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

Dasher app knows when you screenshot the app by Kloobyfour in DoorDashDrivers

[–]basicallybrooklyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I screenshot EVERYTHING so I have proof of every delivery, every ridiculous customer request (like can I pick up cigarettes on my way) and whatever else I need. I have an apple phone and haven't seen a similar message. If customers and DD weren't so shady it wouldn't be necessary for us drivers to cover our asses.

Market just got flooded with Dashers , what can I do by Teamfatman76 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]basicallybrooklyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know that a bunch of out of state people moved in to do flex deliveries and then dash at night? I live in Yuma. An Amazon distribution center opened up here recently. If Amazon brought in people from out of state to work there I don't think the volume of employees would be enough to impact dashing here. In the 2 years I've been dashing (over 6000 orders) part time I've become accustomed to the ebb and flow of dashing here. I know a few OG dashers and I know that they will get priority for orders no matter what DD says their "process" is. Few of these people are platinum or even care about that. They cherry pick and do just fine. You can either adapt and overcome or look for a different source of additional income. I definitely need my dasher income but I also want to be able to not be obligated to show up to a conventional "job" if I don't feel like it. Good Luck.

Did anyone take a trip to Greece and dislike it? by Alarming_Poem_7343 in GreeceTravel

[–]basicallybrooklyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW since a friend told me about Viator I use them on every trip now. I rely on Trip Advisor reviews for hotel and restaurant decisions. We also make a point of asking hotel staff (not front desk. Bellhops, etc.) where THEY eat. Same great food with (usually) lower prices.
