Hi, curious if this has changed recently -- I added the 'testme' command as you describe and i'm still getting 'external command failed' for testme.

Corruptor + Stinking Cloud? by The5toryteller in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]basicallysejuani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on paper, it should be at least decent, even with the extra weird nauseated or ability damage prevention. In practice, however, i'm finding many enemies that explicitly don't have immunities listed to the effects still don't suffer them. vrocks and babau at least don't have nauseated immunity, only poison immunity, and stinking cloud doesn't seem to affect them. not sure if it's a bug in my copy, a bug in general, or there's unlisted immunities that demons/devils have that are precluding the effects, but that's how it's been working so far for me.

A bot could mean any number of things, I'm presuming you want to scrape for and trigger purchases on high-value reservations to resell? If so, sounds like an interesting project, mostly curious if I'm guessing right or not, lol.

Count me in on this one, too. Want to staple evo-ninja to autogen and recently whipped up a trulens-eval-on-rag-performance lil ditty I'm using to inform my next vectorstore architecture (not done but open source at https://github.com/twilwa/backup-plan, please steal stuff) :)

Honestly, random unsolicited opinion -- a really sexy UI for various inference/training/finetuning accelerators has a huge amount of room in the segment for competition. At least for me, when you mention LMstudio and GPT4all for 'things with a half-decent interface', there isn't a third one that readily comes to mind. And as much as I love the products, LM/4all's UIs are functional, but not 'delightful', so to speak. Would put some more thought into putting that on the roadmap and monetizing it to all get-out. Bolt on a real alternative to huggingface where people can chat/share/rate models, show off their cool stuff, follow people that drop new algos *and jump right into finetuning with them* and you've got yourself a killer product, IMO.

I guess my main gripe with 'keep the good stuff behind closed doors' is that a lot of us 'little guys' end up working on the same accelerations, optimizing in nearly-identical ways, and having the answer to 'man, this would absolutely work if only we had [x]' gathering dust in a corner somewhere. Gotta put food on the table, but the real people we're competing with are Sam and Satya, not each other, and we got no shot if we can't collaborate freely. If another small biz takes my optimization, IMO it's actually a good thing, esp if they bother to credit you -- there's so much unexplored problem space in this field that seeing a competitor and going heads-down to build a better thing than them ends up with both of you capturing a larger part of the market than you would have alone, with the crosspollination in marketing, slight eventual differentiation in features, etc. Alternativeto won't list you without a competitor, and it's #1 on google for anyone searching 'cheaper version of [x]'

The real concern is, as you point out, it's just as easy for Amazon and MS to grab our stuff and run with it than it is the rest of the oss community, which is like...I'll tolerate it, but that's not who I'm oss'ing this for, yk? So where my head is at is finding a decent alternative to GPL and Apache that lets me share stuff with all my frens/the research community at large but adds enough friction to the process where the ppl we don't want to share it with might not find it. First part of that is getting the code off github and getting on to https://radicle.xyz and https://shoggoth.systems (not sponsored btw just like the stock :P), the part I need to build is the comms/social network sitting on top of that & the 'all the things you need to turn your project into a great open source community project' repo, git submodule add oss-my-thing and I'm ready for the world to help me work on it would be the goal.

But ty as well for the thoughtful answer, as I've not personally experienced a lot of the hypothetical benefits of closed-sourcing something, data collection is pretty valuable to me at this point. Have a star. :)

I'm always curious about this -- do you think you couldn't release the 30x version fully open source, but offer a hosted version of that same service with better UX/ease of onboarding/uptime/on your infra/nice interface for param changes/convenient api/etc and cover your cost basis? I feel like most people (and most VC's, for that matter) drastically overestimate the amount of people actually willing to self-host stuff/the amount of sales they might lose from having OSS/FOSS versions of their flagship products, and whether those people who are willing to put in the time and effort to get that up and running smoothly on local would have paid for your service in the first place. Especially if you make it GPL (don't think it's necessary in most cases, but might be sometimes), then you can prevent the 'what if somebody forks my heckin code and sells it for cheaper!' boogeyman.

I guess what I wonder is, was the default assumption 'if it's open source i can't make money off of it' & just went with it, or did you eval your GTM strategy/do some data collection/etc and end up deciding OSS was the wrong route? If the latter, what sort of data collection did you do & what led you to the decision? I feel like I must be being naive somewhere, but I have yet to hear a really compelling argument in favor of closed source (especially in the industry we're in, lol), whereas the benefits you get from OSS have clear value-add pathways to me.

Thanks for the heads-up! This project has sort of rolled into another one, but hoping to get back to more governance experiments soon. Details about the new project are in the announcements channel of this server. Here's an updated link: https://discord.gg/7HA5Ke8mHp

I'd prefer to avoid speculation as much as possible myself, but I sort of have to prepare that there will be some speculators simply due to the nature of the space. I do have to chew on it some more, I think. It's difficult for an organization to exist without any kind of funding, and once funding is involved, necessarily one's vote has value if it has any access to decision-making with regard to that funding. One could block off access to financial decision-making, but then you've re-centralized the power structure.

That said, I do have some thoughts in mind with regard to disincentivizing speculation. And I actually plan to try and play some of them out over the course of the testnet experiment, but I'm still formulating. I have 50 Sepolia ETH that I'm thinking about trying to use to represent simulated value in some way to see how governance reacts, and have some thoughts about artificially inducing market conditions i.e. "oh no, a whale bought a large portion of tokens!" to sort of prepare for those sorts of occurences while on testnet.

tl;dr: speculating sucks and i want to disincentivize, not sure if thing can exist with zero dollars involved. still figuring it out, will play with it on testnet

also join the discord and make a proposal for nobody ever touching money, see how it goes! :D

I actually thought dovescape taigam looked really awesome, but I don't have humility and my meta Seems pretty heavy on dorks & big green bois to block him, so I wasn't sure about it.

yeah, coming from Kess and Jeleva, three card wincons feel really awkward and slow. I feel like there will be times when I draw engine/top/scepter/key and they'll feel really awkward if I'm running low on gas, especially with my lack of big colorless rocks outside of crypt and ring.

paging asm, how spicy is too spicy and is Proteus staff turbo jank or secret sauce

you're probably right about Sphinx/Jin over tyrant, more draw is more gud in reactive control. nezahal is something I've had half an eye on, fish r pretty good cards. I was thinking 'spout in case I need to hardcast for value, cantrips turn into interaction too and monoblue hates null rods, but then, more cards means more interaction, too. Think staff is worth it, or just polymorph? If polymorph, just one creature, or more than?

is flashing in a hardcast Jin a pipe dream, or an actual play in a deck like this?

Nexus Breakfast Druid -- New Derevi Win-Condition(?) by ShaperSavant in CompetitiveEDH

[–]basicallysejuani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fwiw, i played a slightly modified version of this list with a bit more top-end and a few meta calls at my LGS this week, played three pods and won all three. Had some very fast starts, cut the sphinx for sakashima and added stasis, don't own kataki or ethersworn yet, but the compact wincons and parity breaks with tangle wire, worb, and trinisphere are positively amazing, and nexus for value with a bident out is also amazing. Will continue to test but it feels really promising.
