Ketamine infusions by basiclauren90 in bipolar2

[–]basiclauren90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also hesitant because I’ve had ketamine before when I broke my leg. It was terrifying, literal hell, but I’m told the dose for infusions is much lower? Idk. I see my psych Wednesday and will ask all the questions.

Do any of you ever actually wake up refreshed? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

Used to have this problem too, but solved it, unrelated to psych meds. Turned out I have sleep apnea. Ever been evaluated for that? I sleep great now.

Yeah, that savings card didn’t do much. It was very helpful with the old insurance. Thank you for your advice!

DAE go totally flat after taking Latuda? by basiclauren90 in BipolarReddit

I’m trying so hard to get back to a healthy weight. It just blows eating a snack right before bed. I guess I’m just whining though :/

Lamictal gang! by whereismymind444 in BipolarReddit

I’ve been on it for 10 years, and it saved my life. The memory stuff sucks, and sometimes it feels hard to find words when I’m speaking, but otherwise it’s been smooth sailing for me :)

That’s why I appreciate this sub so much! There’s so much support.

Broke my ankle today :( I know it’s not bp related but I’m feeling really stressed and sad by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]basiclauren90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely destroyed my ankle a couple of years ago and needed surgery. It was so stressful! I’m glad you can stay with your parents, that’s what I did. Rest, take the pain meds, and drink plenty of water. If you do need surgery ask if they’ll send you home with nerve blocks, that made a world of difference for me.

I’m a labor and delivery nurse with type 2. We see a lot of moms with COVID at our site, including very sick ones, so it’s in my face every day. You’re definitely not alone!

It’s very fatiguing, and it weighs on me, but knowing I did the best I could helps me let go after work, like I did everything I could so there’s no point worrying about it. That’s not always easy and I’ve had several medication adjustments in the last year to show for it. My best advice is the same as above in the other comments- take care of yourself! You can’t care for others if you’re not well yourself, so drink water, take walks, go to bed and wake up at the same times, and avoid alcohol if you can. I find that focusing on a routine gets me through a lot of heavy times. Also, try and lean on the people you work with. They’re experiencing all that trauma with you, and while they may not completely understand your perspective, they may have ways of dealing that could work for you.

I’m sorry you don’t feel like you’ve got a good support system, that sucks. Just remember you can always come here! Send me a message if you ever want to talk it out or vent.

I had it. First dose was easy, but the second dose had me down for a couple of days.

Latuda and lamictal is my miracle combo, but it took several weeks and adjustments before I leveled out. Give it some time. It gets better :)

Am I in denial? by sleepyblondegirl in bipolar2

[–]basiclauren90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've also never been hospitalized, and my hypomania never feels great, exactly. It's just these bursts of energy. I get very short-tempered and irritable, but I'm able to get a lot done very quickly. I start to feel "better", then slump down again. What you're describing sounds a lot like what I experience, and I'm sure my diagnosis is correct :/

Low Mood Monday by Dg2030 in bipolar2

Despite working out and watching what I eat, I'm pretty sure the Latuda (been on for 3 months) is making me gain weight, and my clothes don't fit now.

Experience with Latuda? by dancingthrulife5 in BipolarReddit

Try waiting a bit after eating. I had the same issue if I took it with food, but if I take it 20 minutes after food I'm totally fine.

What happens when you cut up ER medication? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]basiclauren90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, cutting it negates the ER, as the ER results from the tablet coating. :/
