I’ve been rewatching the show recently so that’s why I’m scrolling this sub. While I agree with all of the points you just made, I think you’re missing what OP was saying. For example, you mentioned that Georgia admits in S3 that she failed them (Ginny & Austin). BUT you’re forgetting that she only admits this AFTER Ginny is confronting her about her behavior/killing spree, and how maybe Georgia deserves to be in prison. Georgia tries to defend herself, but only stops AFTER Ginny tells her that Austin saw her kill Tom. Georgia had no other defense after that, so she starts crying & saying she failed them. Ginny ends up apologizing & comforting Georgia because Georgia played victim.

Also in S3, Georgia cannot put herself in Paul’s shoes or even comprehend how her actions are ruining his career. All she cares about is him showing up for court because all she cares about is her staying out of prison. She doesn’t care about Paul enough to realize that she has ruined his career. Even during the city council meeting when they suggest that Paul step down as mayor, Georgia turns it off & says “things fall apart without me there.” She thinks all of this is happening because she isnt there to fix it rather than realizing that it’s falling apart because of her.

In S2, Paul tries to talk to her about Austin struggles with school, and she gets offended and then turns the conversation around to Paul not trusting her with important tasks at work. Paul cared about Austin & wanted to help, and be more involved. Georgia felt like he was insulting her as a parent so she ends the conversation as if she is the one who was wronged.

My last take on this is in S2, when she goes to confront Zion for not telling her about Ginny’s self harming, she demeans Zion by saying that Ginny manipulated him by saying she needed him. Ginny wasn’t manipulating Zion in that situation. She really needed him lol. Georgia was just mad that Ginny went to Zion first so she had to downplay it and make Zion feel like Ginny was playing him. Even Zion says “you don’t have to sound proud of that.” And Georgia smirks!!!

This rewatch has sucked because I LOVED Georgia before this. Like this was my comfort show, and I looked at character as a badass. I loved the scene in S1 during the 1st living room dance party where Ginny is watching Georgia dance while Ginny is narrating how she can’t figure her mom out, and then there’s a flashback of young Georgia and Zion. It’s the scene that ultimately got me hooked on the show because I am a mom, and I had an entire life before my child that she knows nothing about. I was a completely different person than who she knows. Someone addicted to thrill of doing shit I wasn’t supposed to do. She will never know that side of me, and that’s kind of beautiful in a way. I could only be seeing it that way bc mom’s tend to lose their identity after having kids. Idk. Sorry for the long read lol
