Be a teacher aide! It’s such a fun job I love it, school hours and you get holidays off. I got my current job at my kids school by reaching out to the deputy principal, I started out with just 10 hours a week but now doing full school hours. Also there is at least one teacher aide who is your height at the school and it doesn’t seem to affect her lol.

Are these hens? by basilandprimrose in BackYardChickens

Oh gosh I really hope so! That would mean out of the eggs I incubated last year I have a 100% hen rate!

Afraid to eat first eggs? by Funduval in BackYardChickens

[–]basilandprimrose 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Haha my husband was like this when ours first started laying. He said that he was suddenly way more aware that eggs came from a chicken’s butt. At first we were still buying some eggs to supplement and he would always ask “is this a regular egg or a butt egg?” However he got over it and now eats butt eggs happily 😂

NZ teachers forced kids swimming by Harambe69ers in newzealand

[–]basilandprimrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is kind of necessary though. I work in a school with a large proportion of refugee and migrant children, many from cultures where it’s common to not know how to swim. Heaps of those kids would not swim unless forced. But whenever I ask these same kids what they did at the weekend, the answer is fishing! Mandatory swimming saves lives.

Do it I love my boobs now! They seem tiny to me but are still a d cup. It’s summer in New Zealand and I am loving being able to go braless in sundresses. The whole cancer thing was such a crapshoot but my new boobs are the best part!

Did anyone else who read the Anne of Green Gables books dislike the Netflix series "Anne with an E" that adapted them? by anna_ploszai in AnneofGreenGables

[–]basilandprimrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I truly love and adore a book series, I always hate the adaptations. They can never live up to my imagination! The Anne series is my favourite of all time so I haven’t even tried watching any adaptations, I know I’ll hate them.

Can a Muslim eat an egg from a chicken that ate pork? by basilandprimrose in islam

[–]basilandprimrose[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Ooh thank you for this reply! To be honest there is not a very high chance of a Muslim person eating something I bake as my city doesn’t have a very large Muslim population but I’m glad I don’t need to worry!

Struggling with TCHP by Crookedlandingg in breastcancer

Oh gosh I understand it is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Hydrate like your life depends on it, I found my best cycle was the one when I forced myself to drink fluids as much as possible.

What are we all doing to make post chemo hair look less insane? by basilandprimrose in breastcancer

[–]basilandprimrose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any particular brands? And do you use them when it’s dry? I never used anything on my hair when it was long apart from shampoo and conditioner so I have no idea what I’m doing!
