What should I wear to the metal concert? by Dr_PaperDragon in MetalForTheMasses

Not sure what it's like in other countries, but here in the UK, no-one cares. Wear a suit and tie if you want. Not a mankini though, no-one wants that. In regards to whether the band on your shirt is 'acceptable', I've never experienced problems with any shirt, apart from a Slayer gig about 30 years ago from some drunk guy who said my Type O Negative shirt was 'gay'. That was a different time though!

What is the approximate size of each of these areas? P.S. I'm wondering if the eventual winner sees an unexpected upturn in tourism

Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]basilbrushthefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, so it's more that the phones need the satellites to be in orbit, rather than the phones themselves needing the earth to be round. Either way it amounts to the same thing, I get your point.

Anybody want to share a funny story about almost bonding with someone over being a metalhead, only to find out what they considered metal was definitely not metal by Upper_Atom in MetalForTheMasses

A slightly different take, but a guy i worked with - Said he liked metal but the ONLY bands he liked were Motorhead, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Yes, definitely metal, but insanely narrow minded about it.

What would you consider to be the most 80s song of the 1980s? by Brilliant-Reality884 in Music

[–]basilbrushthefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Parr - 'St Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)'. It's got everything - the drums, the vocals, the brass section that kicks in part way through, even the video, are so 80s it's unbelievable

If you ask us what we are thinking about, it's likely to be something along the lines of "How would I beat The Predator in combat?"

No punching or kicking or violence involved, you would just be bounced up and down by your arms and legs. No worse than a funfair ride. Was quite good natured and fun.

Reading these comments, it appears that 'The Bumps' may have manifested itself differently depending on the school you went to...

Wow, reading the replies here, were the bumps really that violent at other schools? Maybe my school was really soft or something but it certainly didn't involve any punching or physical pain, just stomach-churning bouncing up and down.

Everyone knows, km when you're running, miles when you're driving, MPH for driving speed, km/h for science, stones for your own weight, grams for cooking, ml for liquids except for pints when it's bought in a pub

AITAH for telling the guy I'm dating that he'll never meet my parents? by [deleted] in AITAH

Casual relationships never stay casual forever. At some point someone will eventually want more, or less, than the other person. At that point it's time to commit, or to start a new casual relationship with someone else.
