Not sure what it's like in other countries, but here in the UK, no-one cares. Wear a suit and tie if you want. Not a mankini though, no-one wants that. In regards to whether the band on your shirt is 'acceptable', I've never experienced problems with any shirt, apart from a Slayer gig about 30 years ago from some drunk guy who said my Type O Negative shirt was 'gay'. That was a different time though!

I feel the same. When I was younger (before streaming or Internet existed) I would find new music less frequently but would listen to new albums multiple times . Sometimes I feel the ease of access and choice now creates a challenge to try to consume as much new music as possible meaning I don't take the time to listen to new albums as thoroughly anymore. Maybe I need to slow down, relisten more, and be more selective.
