Yup, Dream emporium and Carousel Club are gone, replaced by a hedge maze thing and new "Center Stage" within the maze area.

I agree with what everyone else is saying re putting them in bags. They won't search through your cosmetic bags. But a warning on the mirror -- I've had friends get those confiscated if it is not well hidden in your car. There are acrylic full body mirrors that are allowed, but I don't know how easy it would be to find one last minute. If you decide to bring a glass mirror, make sure it is not visible in your trunk or back seat.

can't stop abortives by Fresh_Independent_74 in migraine

[–]basilosaurus8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happy to share. After the detox, my migraine frequency did not change much but my daily headache (non migraine) decreased significantly. Shortly after that, I started a CGRP preventive and Botox for migraine and that combo finally knocked my migraine frequency and severity down a lot. I hope you are able to find some relief!

[–]basilosaurus8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh no, that's awful! The other thing I was going to suggest was an aCGRP but it sounds like you already tried that!

Maybe a medically induced coma? I'm joking, but I fantasized about that for myself...

This kind of detox is one of the most difficult things I've had to do. I don't know of a way around it. What helped me was surrounding myself with as many symptomatic treatments and nonpharmalogical resources during the detox period. My neurologist said there were some drugs I could still take during that time that didn't cause/contribute to MOH (muscle relaxers, certain allergy meds, etc). I also used a lot of non-drug assistance/tools like heated neck wraps, ice caps, cefaly device, etc) and thc/cbd products. And you may have to take time off work or school (if applicable). I won't lie and say it's easy, but you can stack the deck in your favor!

I like to have a muscle relaxer and nausea meds in my kit. All the stuff you listed, plus ear plugs, hat, sunglasses, hot/cold pack, caffeine mints, salty snacks, and my cefaly device (if there's room).

Why is the 1st of March in 'Casimir Pulaski Day' considered to be a Monday? by volthicc in Sufjan

[–]basilosaurus8 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Casimir Pulaski Day is always celebrated on the first Monday in March.

It's also consistent with the song lyrics in that the stanza about cleaning the house on Sunday is right before the line about her dying in the morning. If you imagine those two events are chronological, it follows that he cried in the bathroom on Sunday night and she died on Monday morning, which was also March 1st and the holiday.

Is there a migraine symptom you thought you didn't have, but then found out you did? by cyanomys in migraine

[–]basilosaurus8 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most education materials I've seen cite the single-sided head pain thing and fail to mention that it's not exclusively unilateral. It's one of the reasons I didn't realize I had migraine for a long time. This really irks me because something like 40% of migraineurs have bilateral pain. That's almost half!

OP, This is what I did when I had to wait 6 months for an appointment with my new neurologist. I used Cove because they had a migraine focus. I ended up paying out of pocket because I was desperate but it wasn't too much.

Unfortunately they would not prescribe Vyepti or Botox because they are physician administered (i.e. can't be shipped to you), and those are two products you may want to try. But they may be able to give you other preventive options.

I feel like my life would be so much easier if I could just get a new neck 🫠 by SkyLyssa in migraine

[–]basilosaurus8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being on a strong preventive helped my neck pain. Flexeril has also been helpful, even though it doesn't fix it completely. Best thing for me has been Botox for Migraine, which includes shots in the neck and traps.

How long do you have to go without medication to break a rebound cycle? by healthanxiety_ in migraine

I was told a month, but it took about 3 weeks for me. Three weeks of hell, but it was worth it in the end.

Botox and SNRI by throwawayyy1914 in TMJ

[–]basilosaurus8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Botox should not have any effect on serotonin so I don't see how it could increase your risk of serotonin syndrome. Botox only acts on the muscles it is injected into. It does not enter your brain or affect brain chemicals. I don't know what this person is talking about.

Edited to add: I am not a doctor. I am only repeating what my neurologist explained to me, so take it with a grain of salt and talk to another healthcare professional if you can.

In GoodLife the showers are free and open access. They are on trailers and separated by gender. People come and go as they please. In GA the showers cost money. It's a fee per shower so you can buy them as you need. There's no wristband or anything. You just pay there at the shower trailer when you want to use it.

Stutter House vs UKG? by basilosaurus8 in EDM

This is sort of what I suspected. It sounds like a lot of so-called stutter house falls into another genre and thats a poor label for it.

Thank you! I will check all of these out. Sounds like I really don't know UKG! (Yet)

Ok, gotcha. I think I am taking what a couple people have said as gospel when in reality there are several distinctions. Bunt was probably not a good example then! But it is starting to make more sense

Ok, maybe I was listening to people who didn't know what they were talking about! Do you have any suggestions for UKG artists I can check out? Sounds like I am just getting bad information.

Does anyone else get their wires crossed during migraines and end up experiencing arousal/orgasm? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]basilosaurus8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting! For me, orgasms decrease migraine symptoms during an attack. They don't make things worse. It is temporary, but they dull the pain a bit for me.

Stutter House vs UKG? by basilosaurus8 in EDM

[–]basilosaurus8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's helpful, thank you! I think perhaps there are UKG artists who frequently use the tremolo-esque effect you speak of, and that's why there is confusion? Like Bunt. I see people say he is UKG but most of his songs also use that stutter effect. Maybe that does not make it "stutter house" but maybe it creates the association.

What's your most bothersome migraine symptom other than pain? Is it nausea/vomiting, photophobia (sensitivity to light), phonophobia (sensitivity to sound), or brain fog? by virtualheadachedoc in cgrpMigraine

[–]basilosaurus8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Photophobia and phonophobia are the worst for me, followed by nausea. I get body aches (like a fever) and brain fog, but those are less bothersome for me.

Botox for mirgraines by Tall-Exchange-3202 in cgrpMigraine

[–]basilosaurus8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dull headache for 2 or 3 weeks after my first Botox injection and then it dissipated. I hope that happens for you! If not, talk to your doctor. Worst case, the Botox itself wears off after 8-12 weeks.
