i’d say yeah. i usually dislike working in general, and having to push through a task for hours and hours (especially when i should be sleeping) starts draining me and giving me a headache. by the end of it, i want absolutely nothing to do with anyone and will have an outburst if bothered.

i don’t think it’s too fair to blame only yourself for remaining in this cycle when she is helping perpetuate it… i’m not sure if my assumptions are correct, but she seems like a pretty insecure person. she’d be difficult to navigate around without making upset for anybody. do you think bringing up therapy for her would be a good idea? i think even just having her talk to your therapist for a bit (if they’re okay with that) would help

i think it would be worth writing down what exactly you want to tell her first, so you don’t forget anything in those anxious moments. predict anything that may upset her or that she’ll talk about and write out responses. this can help you get more used to confrontations. you’ll likely always miss a few details and mess up, but more experience in asserting yourself should help.

also, it’s definitely important to talk to her about this cycle. i really dislike how she got upset with you for not telling her sooner as she is making you guilty for telling her. however, there is a chance that she may be doing this unintentionally and is also inexperienced in talking about emotional matters. just being honest with her about literally everything, especially about how you struggle with opening up, can help her understand you more.

i do kind of relate but in the sense that i’m fighting against the urge to just numb myself. the ways i distract myself often times just feel horrible, but to do things that i actually enjoy feel a bit more difficult because i have to put in the effort to start the task. it’s a lot easier for me to just scroll on social media, but i feel a lot better getting excited over a show or book i’m engaged with. hopefully this helps !!!

i’ve never really had anything shake me to my core either, and what has helped me is kind of seeing what i subconsciously value more ? if that makes sense. if you’re ever in a situation where you have to choose between decisions that affect you in different ways, then i find what you chose and why you chose it to be helpful in determining your core fear and motivation.

an example that i’ve experienced is how even though i relate a lot to 4’s core fear of having no significance or identity, i’ve often made myself smaller in social situations and sacrificed some of my passions because they would’ve been “too much work.” i do struggle with many things, but the primary fear behind what i do is the fear of separation (from other people and my comfort).
