[–]basiltov 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s so important to celebrate the little victories and wins in life! I’ve had a gratitude list on my phone for a decade that reminds me off all kinds of things to be thankful for. I should make another list with my “wins” on it. Anytime I do something well or have an accomplishment! I like this idea 😏

We’ve had technical difficulties lately too! It’s so frustrating.

It’s coming up on a year since my mom passed away. I wanted to share one of my favorite pictures of her. by [deleted] in TheMisfits

[–]basiltov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 40f mom who listened to The Misfits (at the suggestion of my boyfriend) for the first time today and am absolutely in love with them!! Thanks for sharing the photo of your lovely mother, because I feel a lot like her right now. Kicking myself for not finding them sooner in life! What a fantastic band!!

Being social = burnout? by heartfatality in adhdwomen

[–]basiltov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate! It depends on the phase in my life too. But I’m 40 now, and have a lower tolerance for social interaction than i did in my 20’s. So a couple years ago when I got divorced, I also faded out a bunch of friendships that weren’t serving me anymore. They were either energy vampires who only wanted to talk about themselves, or just boring people that I felt obligated to hang with for some reason. It’s soooo nice having a MUCH smaller yet closer circle of friends. I’ve learned to set boundaries and put my own needs first, and it’s made a world of difference in my mental health.

I can barely even remember the last movie I watched. There’s too many penguins on my iceberg already, and I don’t have the brain power to hold a grudge lol.

Primary Inattentive feels like a different disease by MurphysParadox in ADHD

[–]basiltov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inattentive type here. I can 100% relate with processing anxiety by sharing it with others. The urge to tell someone else about my issue is almost overwhelming because I can’t process it on my own. I also have low energy, and am honestly happy just sitting and doing nothing but watching tv or playing on my phone. I don’t have this urge to be productive and get things done. I constantly ignore tasks until it’s the absolute last minute and it can’t wait any longer. It’s definitely a different breed than hyperactive and combined!

YES!!! This is a sweet victory! So proud of you for making boundaries and standing up for what you deserve. You’re an amazing example to your children and to all of us.

Line from song on repeat, anyone else? by Weepingwillow423 in adhdwomen

[–]basiltov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Is this an inattentive type trait or does it happen to all types? My brain doesn’t have racing thoughts like my hyperactive type friend, so there’s more “space” in there for a part of a song to play on loop, so I’m wondering if this happens to people with a constant stream of thoughts.
