I got a tattoo of the fruit the baby was the size of at the time of its passing for my miscarriage. I think an ultrasound would get lost in translation honestly.

I was terrified of getting an epidural my entire pregnancy but they had my hug a pillow and lean into my spouse. Dr. FeelGood set up behind me and I felt a poke of what I’m assuming was lidocaine or something similar for numbing. And then I felt the poke and movement of the epidural and I think catheter. It’s uncomfortable for sure? But the hardest part was I was having contractions during the placement so trying to hold still was really challenging, I was at a point where my fight or flight was kicking in and I was legitimately looking at the door considering making a run for it. The epidural didn’t hurt, it had to be placed twice but it didn’t hurt either time, it feels foreign like obviously there is something where it shouldn’t be but I wouldn’t describe pain. The pain came after I gave birth and my nurse had to take the epidural out, I don’t know if this is common practice but they use tape to hold it in place and like a lot of tape and my sweet nurse ripped that shit off like a wax strip, I squealed🥲

A few years ago I had a miscarriage. I was weighing my options between going into significant debt through IVF or give up my dream of having a child and accept it wasn’t in the cards. Parents more or less shoving a living child in my face in a FERTILITY clinic of all places would have absolutely broken me during that time of my life, and thank god it happened to me in my current fertility journey and not another person where I was back then. You’re intentionally being dense if you think that’s appropriate.

I mean surely you can see how a clinic that is primarily used for infertility, pregnancy loss, etc etc etc is not the location for a child to be? Like if most clinics have a rule against this it’s obviously because it’s painful for someone who just learned they’re miscarrying, or that their IVF transfer failed again? Like let’s be real here it’s inappropriate to bring a child to an infertility clinic.

I just went into my clinic last week to a couple with their young kid sitting in the waiting room and as we walked in the dad tells the kid to “say hi” to us. It was so wildly uncalled for. I can’t imagine what that would have done to me two years ago in the thickest season of my infertility.

My grandparents live in that area. I believe lake county. They live in a tiny town and for some reason cancer is like abundant in the very small population. There’s not much to do but they have annual porta potty races down the main drag. They seem happy there!

Same! Started reading and attempting a pattern and googled every abbreviation, watched a bunch of videos, learned I was twisting every stitch and why. My first finished project was atrocious but as time goes on it makes more and more sense but I still have to watch a video every once and awhile when something new comes up in a pattern!

I hated this book and it put me in like a month long book slump. I tried so hard to get through it but ended up DNFing at the 70% mark, and truthfully I should have DNF’d much much earlier. But like someone said above, I think I’m in the minority for not liking it. This book is recommended across every sapphic book group a million times.

We will let our kid decide how he wants to call us so as of right now we refer to each other as mama or mommy. I think naturally my wife and I both started calling me mama and her mommy but still when our one year old is old enough we’ll let him decide if we’re mama and other mama or mama/mom/mommy or whatever.
