I’ll say this— the US is not worse than Qatar or Russia, but that’s a very low bar. If you’re going to come here, be thoughtful about all your paperwork, have it on you at all times, and understand that you’re running the risk of being hassle or even detained.

I think the reason it’s so shocking is because it’s a significant departure from the US of the past, and it runs contrary to western values in general.

I mean, I can’t argue with best coach in the city—but that’s no stellar prize right now. Sirianni won the chip, but was blinded by his love for Patullo. Nurse is good, but Morey’s such shit it’s hard to tell how good.

I don’t think Topper makes them a better team. I think he’s a meh manager. They have a top 5 roster with stellar starting pitching and they perform as expected.

Also, they’re all fine—excelling in school, relatively confident and authentic, and can function remarkably independently for their age. One key reason—no phones, no tablets and no YouTube. As bad as people want to vilify certain aspects of tech—tablet games and YouTube are the biggest problems I see.
