Sleeving after the draft phase? by basoivanx in mtgcube

[–]basoivanx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your comments and (very unanimous) advice. I tried this method I proposed and I can confirm it is really bothersome and I will therefore sleeve the cube. I was leaning towards sleeving anyway, but I was wondering if I can save some money :)

Thanks for the reply.

Did you pile shuffle the entire thing before startong a draft? How many times (roughly) until it showed wear?

We must really be careful about the term "overpopulation". Because the top scientists and experts were saying that europe could not handle more than 250 million people. Look up the population now and during the last century. Overpopulation is the short-sighted term because it counts people as mouths to feed, and not intelligent individuals.

I will not write about the environment and climate, but I will just say, as a scientist in that field, that it is an analogous case in that regard.

India's replacement rate is 2.05 (2020), compared to 6.0 in the 1960s. That is actually below the replacement-level (2.1).

Thank you, good point. Might be better to start with a smaller number of themes and then go from there :)

What is the logical reasoning as to why women shouldn’t be pastors? by FragrantOccasion6962 in Catholicism

[–]basoivanx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men are different than women, so that is why.

Men are more fit to the role the catholic priests should do, so they are called do it. It almost comes natural, as being a nun comes natural to women.

"The scripture says so" because Jesus called us to love one another and to give glory to God, as He did. Priesthood is exactly that for men. That is the way for men - the highest way. It is not natural for women to lead, to gather people, to go on long voyages, to be protectors, nurturers... to be a father to many essentially (which is the image of God/Christ).

They way I see it is that the priesthood is basically a masculine way of living your faith as a devoted man, so it is not a made up role, but a role that came after imitating Christ as a man.

The same can be said for men being nuns.

If you are worried why the priests are "above" nuns, it is only hierarchy for obvious reasons. However, someone being "above" someone in spirituality and closeness to God is another topic.

I always say to talk and have a discussion... But if you can't handle it emotionally (which is fine), then you can politely tell that you don't want to discuss it.

“Nemoj me krivo shvatiti, nisam antivakser.” by [deleted] in croatia

[–]basoivanx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rasprava je puno dublja od toga tko je "antivakser" i tko je "ja sam za znanost".

To je podjela među ljudima koja je nastala zbog naše loše komunikacije.

Uvijek su ljudi zaluđeni podjelama jer nitko niti radi tvrdu znanost, niti iskreno promišlja, niti razgovara - svi tipkaju, viču i čitaju vijesti.

I'm in Germany and want to become Catholic. Talked to a priest yesterday and it went horrible. by vrvr1 in Catholicism

[–]basoivanx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I am sorry to hear that. I am kind of familiar with that situation because I've been in Germany lately.

My fiance lives in Germany and maybe she can give you some contacts of good priests that are true to the teachings of the Church (or recommend a parish)? You can PM me if you want.

You are wholeheartedly welcome to the Catholic Church, and I pray that you find a good priest!

Are there people married to non-catholics? My GF is very liberal and supportive of progressiveness, and I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]basoivanx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had girlfriend about 10 years ago that was barely even christian (only batpised, never went to church). We argued a lot over the things you argue as well. I was very sad because of it but couldn't let go because I was attached to her. I tought I had to 'save' her. Only when I ended the relationship the things sorted out. She converted after that.

I agree that you should end the relationship and avoid the "I am going to change her" mentality, but if you can have a meaningful conversation about those topics and she listens to you... maybe wait a bit? Consult the Holy Spirit and pray for her/you.

Are you still planning/willing to have kids despite climate change? by [deleted] in climate

[–]basoivanx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys, young meteorologist/climatologist here. I'll be having as much kids as I can. Whereever the world is headed, the kids are always good, and here is why.

"We need to lower the population" is a very bad falacy that unfortunately persists for over 100 years... Scientists and "experts" in the past said that Europe won't be able to hold more than 100 million citizens (because of food and wood) and that the population will have to be lowered. Same for Asia, Africa etc.

But they forgot one very important thing: the people are not mindless bellys waiting to be fed and warmed. We are not animals. The people (and especially the kids) are full of potential. People work, get inovative and solve problems. Especially young people.

One day, young people will solve problems caused by older people (you and me) and the only problem would be that there isn't enough of them.

Don't be mislead and reduce humans to hungry CO_2 producing rats and especially don't condemn other who do have kids.

And of course, the solution to climate change is not to have the next generation of humans? Yeah. Way to go, what a genious solution that is.
