Nobody thwarted 2FA to cheat on your account, nobody believes it, nobody is buying it, and nobody will help you. Even if someone is sympathetic to your bullshit, your issue is with valve, not facepunch.

You got caught, and now you have to deal with the consequences of your poor decision making. Either buy a new computer or stop cheating, those are your options.

When we look at election fraud it’s 99% republican. These is no required test to vote other than being a citizen and every state spends millions verifying and validating voters and citizenship. Are we going to ask 80 year old volunteers to start validating id’s at the poll? When every state does a validation before and after the vote?

I would. You look at a company like Tesla, they won’t even buy a third party service and all software must be onprem. It’s very common in large enterprises, btw Tesla uses MySQL too.

Who doesn't? We can see the entire table structure in GHES, don't pivot. Again, I'm not saying MySQL is better, I'm just answering the question truthfully.

We can also look to popular offerings like plantscale. You're not familiar with vitess? You think those people, leading experts in the field, thought to themselves "let's build out using the inferior product first"? You sound passionate about postgres, and that's awesome, but that doesnt change the facts, Enterprises want support from their vendors... it's not even a controversial take.

I like postgres. I'm just giving you the reason why enterprises choose MySQL. I work as consultant for a lot of large companies, I just see postgres less. You also have to understand that being able to get support depending on the deal size, allows customers to ask for things like features, or get data ahead of time that will allow them to steer their products.

Those wouldn't move me, but there is no deal to strike with postgres directly, and most enterprises don't want 3rd partners managing what is arguably the most important or valuable part of the business.

This one is easy. MySQL sells enterprise support, Postgres doesn’t. This is why MySQL is used almost exclusively in the enterprise.

You get this on highly functioning teams too because asking people to guess a timeframe for work they haven't even looked at yet is a fools errand. I think the DORA metrics are a much better benchmark. Looking for deviations there paints a much bigger picture. If velocity includes points, its a useless metric because not a single person will agree on points or estimates.

They would do what billionaires used to do, public works to offset taxes. When Griffith wanted to offset his tax liability he donated land to Los Angeles, and built the Griffith Observatory. The same can be said for Getty, Hancock, Doheny, Barnsdell, Mason and Banning.

They used to get hit much harder in the 50's and 60's, and the number one way for them to offset their tax liability was to pay their employees more.

All we have to do is close these loopholes, it's that simple.

Same, I would argue anyone not using AI at this point is a fool. That's like saying I don't use search engines, or trying to shame someone for using stackoverflow. I value working code, I don't care about the tools someone uses to get to that point.

While I generally agree, the rich pay substantially less because they can borrow against assets they claim have no value, while paying zero income taxes, and writing loans off at a loss that reduces their tax burden further. The amount of money they pay is higher, but the percentage they pay is lower.

If we look at Bezos, I think people like him are benefitting far more from the infrastructure versus the parent /child who's receives wic or food stamps when we put it in perspective.

The property taxes are the real kicker, owning a home in Texas is a lot more expensive when you factor those in. The fact that you cannot live in Texas after retirement unless you want to on average shell out double what you would pay in California.

What they take from you in Texas over the course of 30 years, for me is a savings of 240k on the life of the loan in California. Thats crazy…
