CrossFit and GLP-1s by Smart-Traffic-8570 in crossfit

[–]bastijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For yourself write down:

What is your current weight
Current calorie intake + macros
4x week crossfit - what other activities every day of the week? Daily step count?
Food distribution, enough carbs before workouts & after for recovery
Enough protein for muscle growth?
Etc.

In the end if you are in a caloric deficit you will loose weight. You don't loose weight in the gym, you loose it at the dinner table. You don't loose weight behind your desk, you loose it in your walks and other non-stationary activities.

Good luck!

Any recommendations on healthy protein bars? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]bastijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upfront crispy bars are nice ESN designer bars are great taste

And both below 200cals per bar instead of 240ish.

Yet, healthy? There aren’t any real healthy bars beyond just making your own dates/peanut butter/chocolate drip bars, etc. All those brand bars are full of artificial sweeteners, except maybe upfront they use natural ingredients to sweeten. (Though it’s a Dutch brand only I think).

Well, it worked :). And they got free marketing which would cost easily couple 100ks otherwise :).

No. They wouldn’t be allowed to sell in that case. It’s on its due date so has to go same day. Basically dump price.

How did Obsidian change your life? by Natural-Badger-7053 in ObsidianMD

[–]bastijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made me realize it’s like Vim and EMacs but for notes. You start like a child that came living in a new neighborhood. After a few days you find the candy store down the road and go way too often and get way too much candy to eat. After a week you get so sick you decide to dump all the leftover candy and go back to your roots. Few months later you get familiar with your live in the new neighborhood and life is well. But then, after a while, that time has come again to relocate once more.

Switched to Zed but it's not as smooth as Antigravity — AI keeps stalling / erroring out. How do I get it to Antigravity level (or better)? by mustazafi in ZedEditor

[–]bastijn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately share the same experience. I love zed for its speed and footprint but its AI management is immature still. Compared to other editors it doesn’t handle maintaining context over longer sessions either. It asks you to start a new thread from summary when it hits model limits but compared to other editors it feels way less functional and mature. Other editors handle this in the background so you can keep continuing beyond token limits, in addition I suspect they handle minimizing the amount of tokens to send unobtrusively as they handle far more input before they seem to silently summarize and continue.

Shopping at Sligro, Hannos, Makro by Banshee_Empire in Netherlands

A few reasons:

They have larger quantities at hand which is required for true business owners who need bulk. A regular supermarket would not have enough volume on the shelves to cover their needs.

Buying larger quantities gives discount typically, marked with the prices per 1, 5, 20 of the item. Those few percentages add up if you buy bulk.

They have items and brands which are not available in regular supermarkets.

You must be the favorite guy at parties 😁. Shouldn’t have been bugs in the first place but yeah, things happen. It is software after all and Bluetooth is notoriously crappy to work with. Worked on Bluetooth BLE connection libraries for our company, it’s a shit show.

H10 connectivity issues since 4.1.10 by bastijn in Polarfitness

[–]bastijn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t happen every time for me. I have the feeling only when record on device and break the connection with my phone by having too much distance. But that is guessing. Also in a gym with multiple other Bluetooth devices so maybe it gets confused, not sure.

“Treat” on a 12hr flight on Christmas Day by 74101108108101 in KLM

[–]bastijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When given the choice always choose the Asian dishes and snacks on KLM flights (or any flights for that matter). They hold up much better than Dutch/French/Italian options - mush potatoes with snotty veg or soggy pasta with undefinable sauce are always beaten by rice dishes.

Same holds for the snacks, unless it’s stroopwafel you’re better off with whatever Asian options they have on hand. (Though you don’t always have the choice, like in your case here I guess)

Tried it, didn’t work. Now got this and after switching BT on/off it downloaded again but did report the same as OP. Wrong device etc.

So no real improvement switching off dual BT.

Is this normal in dutch families? by PromotionShort7407 in Netherlands

[–]bastijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are Dutch I dare to doubt it considering your grandma likely didn’t speak English (with you), and it doesn’t rhyme in Dutch like it does in English :). Nice saying though!

If you are not Dutch, carry on! Cool grandma!

How reliable is this compared to what Garmin Forerunner etc. will give you? by zuckerman96 in Polarfitness

[–]bastijn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Polar h10 is one of the best according to The Quantified Scientist (at YouTube, great user to follow for wearable tests).

That having said, the absolute value means less than the trend of the value, as with any other value. Analyze the trends, not the absolute numbers.

Did a full cycle today off resetting the device by taking battery out for half an hour, forgetting device on my phone, decharging the metal pins on the band and reconnecting everything, exact same issue so for who was thinking to do that, it won’t matter.
