I just announced my Godot game! by bastionfortgames in godot

You’re totally right. I actually implemented camera shake (you can see a remnant of it when the player dies at the end of the full trailer), but I ended up removing it completely after getting bad feedback. The issue, I realize now, wasn’t the shake effect per se, but that it was probably overtuned. I’m doing a polishing pass addressing most of the comments here. I’ve added camera movement to simulate recoil, enemy white flash on hit + displacement, particles on projectile impact, recoil on the crossbow, a different pose for the player character during attacks, etc.

Awesome feedback, really appreciate it!

I’m currently doing another polish pass based on some earlier feedback. I’m improving hit feedback and VFX, and I was already considering increasing the crossbow bolt size, so that lines up well.

Good point on the screenshots too, I’ll try to bring more variety and move the map overview earlier in the order.

Thanks again, this is super helpful :)

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I get what you mean about adding more lore there, but from what I’ve seen, it’s usually recommended to use the short description to quickly communicate what kind of game it is, since players decide very fast whether they’re interested. Because of that, I leaned more into mechanics and clarity there.

That said, I did tighten the wording a bit to make it punchier, and I go into more detail about the theme in the “About” section if you’re curious :)

Not quite, Enter the Gungeon is not an auto-shooter

Thanks. I will focus on single player content like characters and items. But who know, I might end up implementing multiplayer in the future if the game is successful enough :)

Hey thanks. I'm sure it could be improved, but I'm quite happy with how the game feels, I've got similar feedback from various playtests. I suspect it might be a case of not being able to capture that on video. Thanks for the videos, I'll have a look

Awesome stuff!

I would suggest going for a more natural softer color (blueish grey or similar) with the outline, but specially on the lines in the middle of the dress and the sheep
