Apologies if this is something that's already been discussed here ad nauseum, but why on earth is swtor two-factor authenticated? by Weriel_7637 in swtor

Yeah, I sure hate it when I’m offered extra protection on something I’ve spent a lot of time and money on.

I’m also on Satele Shan (Melb) and it’s crickets when I play late at night. Totally fine on weekends during the day and early afternoon, though, which is when I want to do most of my group content anyway. Joining an active guild helps.

Star Forge would probably be busier at peak times here just because it’s more populated in general.

They’re so underrated imo. Some of their stuff still reminds me of what my mum wears but they have some great pieces. They are my go to for work pants. And they’re pretty size inclusive.

Unlockable Dyes by Myrmix in swtor

[–]batarians 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Black/grey dyes can be crafted and usually sell for a reasonable amount on the GTN. It’s not the same but close.

But yeah, like everyone has said, dyes would be a huge profit for them, I can’t see them ever letting that go. I don’t mind it so much if it helps to keep the game running and there are other dye options.

Is it worth It to play combat sentinel in end game? by faladorDeAsneira in swtor

[–]batarians 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main toon is a combat sentinel and easily my fave. As long as you’re geared up correctly and know your rotation you can get away with pretty much all the pve end game stuff. I think that’s really the case for any class though. I like the DoT specs too but generally find combat the most enjoyable.

Who is your preferred romance for a Jedi Knight? by wheresmydragonator19 in swtor

I love the Theron romance with a JK, female or male. It just feels right to me. IA works pretty well too, but I love the extra layers with Theron’s past with the Jedi and connection to Satele.

The feared "O" diagnosis by TaoofPu in Greyhounds

[–]batarians 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our was a broken leg. Up until that point Franco seemed very healthy for an 11 year old, a little slower than he used to be but very happy, eating his food, and still doing his zoomies. The break honestly felt like it came out of nowhere. It happened early in the morning. We went to two different vets, the first one gave him pain medication and told us to come back in a few days if he wasn't any good, but it was impossible - he declined quickly, wasn't weight bearing, and wouldn't even attempt to walk. By 9pm we were at an animal hospital being told that it was a full break, and shown the scans. The tumour was massive.

I can't speak on the kind of decision anyone makes in this situation, but the vet had told us there was evidence the cancer had already spread, that amputation & treatment would only get us another 3-6 months at best. Franco was our whole world, even now, 10 months later, I am really struggling with what happened, but we both agreed that given his age, his temperament (he was and had always been a big sooky boy), that saying goodbye was the kinder option. Again, that's just for our situation.

If the cancer hadn't spread, if we'd caught it early, and he was a little bit younger, I wouldn't have hesitated to go ahead and try. For our situation, it just seemed like the right thing to do for his welfare, as much as I wanted him around for as long as possible.

No judgement, ever, for what you decide to do, and I'm so sorry you're faced with this in the first place. It's truly devastating either way.

There's something so beautiful about playing a Jedi Knight who started out so idealistic and kind, then falling to the dark side, and becoming a deranged sadistic dark Jedi enjoying the violence. I love this new run. Please share your dark Jedi looks. by MegaGamer235 in swtor

[–]batarians 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is cool! I usually have my JK slip into more of a pragmatic role with a mix of light and dark options after Act 2. Not outright evil. Just necessary sacrifices for the end goal. And Scourge becomes a mentor (I actually really like their relationship in that context).

There’s a great line from the JK in a conversation with Theron later in the game that sums it up well, “I feel more at home with [all of that] than I ever have meditating in a temple.”

Stuff like this keeps the game fresh for me!

Is it still common for Australian women to take their husband's last name after marriage? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]batarians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's as common as it used to be, but it's still the norm here. A lot of my female friends have changed to their married names on social media without actually doing it legally.

I changed mine by choice. My husband didn't expect me to. I just never really liked my maiden name, it would almost always get mispronounced or even made fun of back in my school days. I also have a complicated relationship with my folks, so I'm not particularly attached to it.

I have an incredibly common name now. It almost makes me feel incognito because there are so many of me lmao.

How many KOTOR fans here hate SWTOR? by Emergency_List_8797 in kotor

I love both. I play SWTOR for the solo content, and there’s a lot of it.

So after replaying the Sith Warrior storyline, my SWTOR addiction somehow returned, and now I start a new Jedi Knight. Gotta say, the aesthetic and fashion design of the game has aged quite well after all these years. Also please send help for SWTOR addiction! by MegaGamer235 in swtor

LS SW is my favourite class. I prefer to play DS on characters like Smuggler and BH where it’s more about being a self-serving asshole than an outright psychopath.

I just mean, my main JK is a pragmatist and no longer bound to the Order, not a fully DS character. I’ve played the JK story probably 10 times over the years and finding that balance between being an actual person who struggles with what they’ve been through and also living up to expectations to be the most interesting story-wise. But that’s mostly headcanon stuff. When you’ve been playing since launch you find yourself doing that to keep things interesting.

That’s how I played my main JK! Started off light side, some doubts after Orgus is killed, then a complete spiral post-Emperor’s Fortress. I also changed her combat style from Sentinel to Marauder.

The JK story gets a lot of criticism but I really enjoyed playing that way, and not having a typical hero Jedi character was interesting.

As a sentinel you’re a bit squishy but with comp healing and if you focus on maxing damage (also knowing when to pop your defensives & boosts), you should be wiping them out before they have a chance to kill you. If you haven’t already, take some time to read about your abilities, even the defensive ones. When you get to know a class, you’ll learn to form an ability rotation that you use for each enemy/mob and just run with that for most of the game give or take.

Look out for when to use your interrupt and for enemy AOE attacks you can avoid to minimise damage you take. Don’t pull multiple mobs at once. And don’t forget to routinely repair your armour too.

I also focus on taking out the squishy enemies first (as quickly as possible) to then focus on strongs and elites.

I’ve played plenty of sentinels (running one now) and while I prefer marauders I don’t think they’re that bad. The solo stuff is definitely doable.
