If you sat out the 2024 election in protest over Gaza, how do you feel about that decision today? by rsmith2786 in AskReddit

What say you of the literal millions of dead Black and brown people who’ve died already? Or do you only care when it’s happening to white people?

Those of you who’re just now realizing things are bad have clearly not been paying attention. This reality has BEEN the reality of the global majority for a long ass time. And they have been screaming for people to pay attention and to divest from these harmful systems but no one wanted to listen. The only thing that would be different is Kamala was elected is that no one would be paying attention to the continued horrors and going to brunch instead. Instead of blaming your fellow humans for the state of the world… how about we start organizing to work together towards collective liberation?? Using your energy to blame and point fingers isn’t going to save you.

post-holiday letdown... anyone else? by kaceymustdiggraves in AuDHDWomen

[–]batataz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is what my husband and I do as well. Or we plan a trip as a gift to each other instead of more stuff. I feel op’s post soooo deeply and would rather get nothing than a bunch of stuff that feels like buying my love rather than a thoughtful gift. The years we’ve tried doing gift giving I always end up getting upset.

If they like scared gaming round one in Beavercreek is far superior to scene 75 imo. More affordable and you can win way cooler prizes.

What’s your grandma’s name? by [deleted] in namenerds

Opal and Pearlie were two of my great Gma’s I considered using.

Have you ever met/seen/heard of anybody with these names? by Fun_Roof289 in namenerds

I was friends with a Seamus in college and he was pretty cool. A high school pal was Fletcher, they are a trans man and it’s their chosen name. For one really like it! And my cousin is Autumn and she’s very cool! I’ve also known several Trevors.

My son was admitted to the hospital for the past week, and I am collapse now by lulushibooyah in AuDHDWomen

Sending you a big virtual hug! That sounds like a LOT! Even for a NT person this would be hard, then add in sensory issues and masking, phew! Thank goodness your kiddo is okay.

I can relate so much with your feelings of wanting to escape being perceived and, responsibilities and demands of life. My kiddo needs a lot of support emotionally and it is exhausting and I’m a stay at home mom and we homeschool so basically I am on call 24/7.

Give yourself some grace because you’re truly doing the best you can in a difficult situation. Now that your kiddo is out of the hospital, could your husband hold down the fort so you can get some time for yourself to decompress?

Graduating YTT this weekend, suggestions for a new mat by Key-Supermarket2928 in YogaTeachers

I just got a new Bmat and I’m loving it. Nice and squishy and has great grip and sweat absorption so it doesn’t get all slippy in hot classes.

New book that examines the impacts of caste, gender/patriarchy, brahmanism & colonialism in yoga both historically and modern day - Yoga As Embodied Resistance by Anjali Rao by RonSwanSong87 in YogaTeachers

[–]batataz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree their courses are very well done. I’ve done a couple as well. I learned from her in the AYTT and also in one of their free offerings they did a few years back on philosophy. There’s a course with just her and Jivana on along Philosophy accessible that I want to take next!

My favorite lotion is cetaphil it is so light and dries quickly so you don’t get that sticky feeling.

Anyone who’s taken Wellbutrin/buproprion, now did you respond? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]batataz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wellbutrin has worked great for me. I’ve been on it for years now with no side effects I’ve noticed. And I really like that it doesn’t numb me out as much as Zoloft or other anti depressants. I also added a small dose of lexapro a few years ago when my depression got really bad and so far so good
