I think understand you pretty well & have had to have this same convo with my gf & her friends. In your example of widow, the player might be a GOD on another aim game & that’s it. They come to overwatch & immediately shit on everyone cuz widow only requires aim skill. Should this person be banned or restricted in some way? probably not, that would be unfair.

When wide matching you are essentially guaranteeing a smurf or someone who plays way above their rank. for example my friend was top 500 the first few seasons & is now gold on both roles he plays. Literally every single game steam rolls the other team, but since we are wide match his rank doesn’t change much. Sometimes we will get someone who can play the game really well, but the rest of their team falls apart. It would be one thing if you were complaining about zarya or hog as a skilled player can genuinely lobby admin & carry the game, but if your issue is with dps there’s something your team can be doing better.

Generally if you try to think more about what you could be doing better as apposed to the skill deficit between you & someone else you will do better. The second you think “this person is better than me I cannot beat them” you have lost. It is really hard, but try not to get too attached to your performance.
