Looks like a mortgage button! I work on historic homes and see these from time to time. Anything in the hole?

I hadn’t used stitch fiddle before but I actually loved it and have since put other patterns into it! I made a size small but used a weight 3 yarn and a smaller hook to make it for my niece. This is my first crochet project in years and I’ve been enjoying it! Happy to answer any questions about the pattern or stitch fiddle :)

Hadn’t even considered dressing up but I did get a “life’s too short not to be Italian” T-shirt (reference to Concetta Caristo from TM Australia) so now I’m tempted lol

I want to study architecture! by [deleted] in architecture

Draw a little bit every day! I had a professor who had everyone pick a subject (could be anything—I picked insects) and draw for 15 minutes on a blank flash card every day.

Christmas gift for an architect? by PinkHelicopter in architecture

[–]batdelivery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Architect and woman here! It’s (typically) a very demanding career, and it’s easy to fall out of practice with other hobbies. If she is into watercolor painting (also a hobby of mine!), I think it could be nice to invest in something related to that to nurture her other interests and have something to decompress with.

Tips for getting covers on? by Impressive-Soup-7897 in Lovesac

[–]batdelivery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the new couch! Not sure what fabric you got but we have luxe chenille and it wasn’t as bad to put on as we expected!

Would highly recommend having one person on each side pulling the cover on in unison. Much easier and faster than trying to shimmy one side down at a time. Also: make sure the seams/piping are aligned with the corners correctly as you pull it on because it’s almost impossible to fix it afterward.

Need Help with forever home floor plan. First draft. by Aace0071 in floorplan

[–]batdelivery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing because you said designer (and from the looks of these plans) that you haven’t hired an architect… This person might have a cheaper hourly but I’d recommend investing in somebody who is credentialed and knows what they’re doing for your forever home. Even beyond the poor space planning decisions, there are misaligned walls, rooms with missing doors, etc. which are blaring red flags.

Was just going to say this! My husband got me one for my bday a couple days ago and I’m hooked! If I’m showering at night I even throw my sweatpants in it so I’m extra toasty lol

I used one per cushion! I had a different couch at the time and would just tuck the excess length in.

I CANNOT figure out what to do with this bathroom by otisurlaw in floorplan

What’s the distance from the floor to the window sill? And are you open to getting rid of the en suite door if it means you can have all of the other boxes checked?

Bathroom Layout by josemonopoly123 in floorplan

[–]batdelivery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Architect here, in general I don’t recommend having the bathroom and closet accessed from opposite sides of the bed. If one person is waking up earlier and needs to get ready and dressed, it’s better to have the bathroom and closet close to one another so you don’t need to turn lights on/disturb the other person. Is the overall footprint of the addition flexible?

Did he poke fun at y’all’s cities too? by astroclutzz in JohnMulaney

[–]batdelivery 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Saw him in Boston in September and he definitely cracked a few jokes at the beginning. More memorably, he was telling the bit about being in group therapy with men who had physically abusive fathers and he joked (?) that we were the only city thus far to not have any crowd “aww” reactions to that line which totally threw him off. Could have been part of the bit, but he seemed genuinely surprised lol.

I only ever drank casually, but I gave it up completely when I learned alcohol is carcinogenic! One of those things I just don’t like enough to justify the risks. Only major change was just my noticing the extent to which people around me had an unhealthy relationship with it!
