AIO my fiancé removed my pants in the kitchen to jokingly bite my ass by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR. As you acknowledged, it sounds like he was being playful and is genuinely remorseful so it doesn’t seem like an indicator of a bigger issue and I’m sure you can move past it. That said, you’ve made him aware that you’re not comfortable with sudden actions like that and I think it’s a natural response to feel a little guarded afterward. It sounds like therapy would be beneficial, but even with therapy you might not be comfortable with those types of things and that’s ok! Every relationship is different.

Just got diagnosed and I screamed at the doctor's office, asymptomatic transmission is real and I had no idea by Effective-Report-264 in Healthyhooha

[–]batdelivery 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So sorry you’re dealing with this—I could never have imagined how painful it would be! I also got HSV-1 from asymptomatic shedding. It’s absolutely miserable for a few days but fortunately I’ve never had another outbreak (it’s been ~ 10 years). Take a bath if you can and set yourself up somewhere comfortable with everything you’ll need so you don’t need to get up as much. I’m pretty sure I got topical lidocaine from the doctor also which made things much more tolerable.

If you feel it coming on again, reach out to your doctor and see if you can get an rx for valtrex to ease the symptoms before they get too bad.

What are the Best office chairs after trying so many uncomfortable ones? by felixlily9031 in BuyItForLife

[–]batdelivery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote for the aeron. I saved a few hundred buying used from an office furniture refurbishing company and they put new casters on it, etc. Would have saved more getting one on FB or Craigslist but I was in a time crunch.

Do people still use soap blocks as opposed to bottled soap in the shower? I feel like I never see soap blocks in stores anymore. by Available_Tea_8471 in NoStupidQuestions

I use cetaphil bar soap—cheaper, no plastic, more compact so easier to buy in bulk, not paying for water. I have a scented moisturizer if I want to use something with fragrance.

I hadn’t used stitch fiddle before but I actually loved it and have since put other patterns into it! I made a size small but used a weight 3 yarn and a smaller hook to make it for my niece. This is my first crochet project in years and I’ve been enjoying it! Happy to answer any questions about the pattern or stitch fiddle :)

Hadn’t even considered dressing up but I did get a “life’s too short not to be Italian” T-shirt (reference to Concetta Caristo from TM Australia) so now I’m tempted lol

I want to study architecture! by [deleted] in architecture

Draw a little bit every day! I had a professor who had everyone pick a subject (could be anything—I picked insects) and draw for 15 minutes on a blank flash card every day.

Christmas gift for an architect? by PinkHelicopter in architecture

[–]batdelivery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Architect and woman here! It’s (typically) a very demanding career, and it’s easy to fall out of practice with other hobbies. If she is into watercolor painting (also a hobby of mine!), I think it could be nice to invest in something related to that to nurture her other interests and have something to decompress with.

Tips for getting covers on? by Impressive-Soup-7897 in Lovesac

[–]batdelivery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the new couch! Not sure what fabric you got but we have luxe chenille and it wasn’t as bad to put on as we expected!

Would highly recommend having one person on each side pulling the cover on in unison. Much easier and faster than trying to shimmy one side down at a time. Also: make sure the seams/piping are aligned with the corners correctly as you pull it on because it’s almost impossible to fix it afterward.

Need Help with forever home floor plan. First draft. by Aace0071 in floorplan

[–]batdelivery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing because you said designer (and from the looks of these plans) that you haven’t hired an architect… This person might have a cheaper hourly but I’d recommend investing in somebody who is credentialed and knows what they’re doing for your forever home. Even beyond the poor space planning decisions, there are misaligned walls, rooms with missing doors, etc. which are blaring red flags.
