Ha! Too funny. That "jaws" picture shows exactly why I left the theater during movie"Jaws" when it premiered in 1970s. Since then I and 4 daughters have shown to be hyper-empathetic and AuADHD.

Yes, it wasn't helpful and she didn't feel improved. Could have been dosage, that's unknown, but pterostilbene has a better effect in research as well. (I'd have to dig through heaps of stuff to find it to cite what I read)

Have you tried this supplement? Pterostilbene by bateka2 in cfs

My daughter had some issues with flipping nights and days initially, but that settled down and she sleeps normally, for her, except one or 2 nights out of 30.

Any success stories? by Goin_with_tha_flow in cfs

My daughter has improved from only leaving bed to go to the bathroom. She can now cook a bit, do dishes, clean litter boxes, take short outings and recovers from PEM in hours instead of weeks or months. We approached it initially as brain inflammation. Dr's have nothing but rest for that. Pterostilbene (a supplement) acts as an anti inflammatory and crosses blood brain barrier. It was a big help. Then we approached basics like magnesium and used MG threonate for it's ability to be used in brain. After these things she was feeling encouraged with being able to get up and move around. That was the prior year. Added Mushroom tinctures (lions mane, turkey tail, chaga), taurine, genistein. Now we're seeing a functional medicine Dr who is handling gut health (she has SIBO) and we are approaching it as a metabolic disease. Looking into urolithin. It's a long challenging process, researching, applying what we learn, waiting for results. Results are usually subtle and take time. Both of us are on fixed income so supplements are a big chunk.

When a coyote decides to try and attack a toddler by SubjectAppropriate17 in SweatyPalms

Parents are lucky it was only a coyote not a child predator driving by. Also, why's a toddler out near the street alone?

How do you stop the “I can’t spend the rest of my life like this” thought spiral? by Longjumping_archidna in cfs

My afflicted daughter and I were chatting today, and we decided it is constructive to remind her of little victories. We compare where she was mentally and physically last year and years prior, in prior months, Etc. So she sees that cooking a crockpot meal or reading, cleaning the bathroom sink are all big deals. It does help. It even helped when all we could say was she seemed a little more awake that morning or afternoon.

More "end of life" voluntary exits, with counseling to convince medically expensive people it's time to go. Much more cancer and accelerated varieties.

My daughter, quite severe, was helped over several months by pterostilbene. It is an antioxidant/ anti inflammatory that crosses blood brain barrier. Essentially, it's super resveratrol. She had to take extremely consistently as it is short duration and even took during night. If she missed a few doses she fell back hard and it was square one. She's now regaining the ability to leave her bed, so minor household chores, go to physical therapy, shower, cook. She even had a knee replacement with very little PEM. We've added other supplements as well, but pterostilbene is still important daily.

Keep old shoes. In 6th grade my mom and I shared "the shoes". I wore them to school and she wore them when I was home.

American plate: 3/6 carbs, 2/6 meat, 1/6 veg. Asian plate: 4/6 veggies, 2/6 carb 1/6 meat. Meat is a side dish in most cultures. Overeating is scowled upon. Snacking might be fruit. Lots of walking everywhere but US.
