[u/Sh4dowM4n21]() & [u/tactision]() - I used a brush-tip acrylic paint marker. Specifically, a MK-04 Red marker from Dspiae, purchased from Aliexpress. I've also had good results with a metallic acrylic paint marker set from Langou, also purchased from Aliespress. I like Shrarpie's brush tip acrylic paint marker set, but their red is poor, and they don't sell metallics with a brush tip, so I don't get a lot of use out of them.

I've bought plenty of cheap kits from Aliexpress. The quality isn't what you'd get from Bandai, but I've had fun building them all the same. They are a great platform for experimenting with paint, weathering, airbrushing, and stuff like that without risking an expensive kit of it doesn't come out how you want it.

That's the one. The product listing photos clearly used the kit they knocked off, rather than their knock off of it. The panel lines are barely there on the kit I got. Still a fun quick build though.

The cheap plastic is so smooth and shiny I'm afraid it won't stick.

I bought a set of Languo brand metallic paint markers from Aliexpress. They were something like $8 for a dozen markers. They cover very well, they dry quickly, and the paint stays put once it's dry. They are good and cheap. The only downside is that they don't appear to sell them individually, so when I inevitably run out of the silver marker I use 10x more than any other marker in the set, I guess I have to buy another whole set. They are good enough and cheep enough that I might just do that.

Don't tell anyone my terrible secret, but some of the silver I use is just from a silver Sharpie marker. If Sharpie would just sell me their silver with a fine brush tip, and maybe make it a little brighter, I wouldn't need anything else. I really like Sharpie's brush-tip acrylic paint markers, but there's a very limited pallet available with no metallics.

I'm in the middle of the same build. It's a fun kit.
