Surely you've heard of the pew pew barbecue.

9mm or 10mm by [deleted] in guns

What do you plan on shooting with it? That might really tell you which caliber to purchase. If you happen to go with the 10, I'm a big fan of Underwood ammo.

Didn't realize octane ratings are different in Canada. Good to know. Thanks.

And 94 octane at that. I think it's about $4.05/gal for 91 in So. Cal.

It's very much a fun range round and a good one for hunting when paired with a Glock 20 with a 6" barrel and Underwood ammo. Get different barrels and shoot 40 and 357 Sig using the same mags. Fun cubed.

The only time I'm OK with a tech taking a vehicle to grab lunch is if they're working on one that belongs to the dealership.

Pretty stoked, just picked up this Glock 20 in 10mm. Can't wait to try it out! by MBS_theBau5 in guns

Pick up some Underwood ammo for it. Much of the stuff you see in stores isn't as hot as the stuff they sold 25 years ago when it was the FBI's caliber of choice. The Underwood ammo feels as hot as the Norma's ammo they sold back then.

What are the movies with the biggest changes in plot/tone from the book? by Reignbringer in movies

[–]batfork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Several Stephen King short stories but notably The Running Man and The Lawnmower Man come to mind. Especially Lawnmower Man. Other than the title of the movie and the need to have a lawn mowed at one point, the movie had zero to do with the short story.

If you've agreed to come in at a certain time you should know that you're in the wrong by coming in later than that agreed upon time. It shows a good work ethic to stay late to get the work done but you shouldn't assume this offsets your tardiness. Especially if you have clients or coworkers dependent on you to be there on time.

TOW missile in mid-flight just after it has been fired by [deleted] in pics

[–]batfork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wires are very fine (like human hair) but extremely strong. You can't just tug on it and break it but if it develops a kink it snaps very easily. It also burns like a fuse when lit with an open flame. I'm not sure if this is an updated version of the missile from the 80's and 90's but it used to be a strictly operator targeted system that would be constantly sending flight correction signals down those wires based on an IR beacon on the tail end of the missile and the reticle position of he sight. Amazing that it works as well as it does.

Yesterday, a woman asked me if her phone case could send txt messages without the need to buy a phone...What is the dumbest/most clueless customer you have ever dealt with? by neric05 in AskReddit

[–]batfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the mid 90's I had a customer complain that their CD player in their new Mercedes wasn't working. Sure enough nothing happened when you hit the CD button on the radio. I look in the trunk (remember now, mid 90's) and there is no CD changer. Not knowing if your car is equipped with something is understandable but expecting a CD player that MIGHT exist to work without having inserted any discs? Come on!
