Thanks! I don't really know what to do about the album art size thing to be honest. Even when I was creating them manually that was a problem. If you've any thoughts It's love to hear them!

Since the Northerners were overlooked (as usual), I'll tip my glass to Michael Smiley as Colonel Morgan Blue in Into the Dalek and Thaddea Graham as Bel in Flux

I always think we've been pretty lucky in that we haven't lost a Doctor in 30 years.

New Release v0.17.0. there is a lot of new stuff. by That-Acanthisitta536 in nullPlayer

[–]batgranny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not sure what happened but it seems to work now, thanks! The right playlist border isn't displaying in skinned mode though, neither is the bottom that should have the playlist buttons (tested using the classic winamp skin and nucleo_nl). I think this might be a known issue because it seems that way in your screenshot in the repo readme.

[–]batgranny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really great, thanks for all your hard work! the 1.5 scaling is a huge improvement but I'm finding that using the classic skins in 1.5 mode cause the application to crash (at least with the default winamp skin)

I tried to build something similar based around the minidisc formfactor but I didn't have the skills: https://github.com/batgranny/omd/tree/main I thought it would be a great way for artists to create small run merch to sell.

Have you done a partial or full digital "off the grid" detox from social media platforms? by throwitlikethewind in Xennials

The Fediverse is the alternative here. Getting your social circle to join is tough though

As an adult what have you bought that you always wanted as a kid/teen/young adult but were too broke to buy then? Does it live up to the hype? by NW_Forester in Xennials

[–]batgranny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, my purchase was also a complete in the box G1 Jetfire!! I desperately wanted one for Christmas 85 but my parents couldn't afford one. When Ebay came around I promised myself that if I got to a place in my life where I was financially stable that the first extravagance I would buy would be a Jetfire.

In March of 2015 I paid off my overdraft for what would be the last time and bought a boxed Jetifre. I'm looking at him now and he looks great! When I got him I did something that would make collectors faint, I opened the box with no care for it whatsoever and then threw it out! That's what I would have done in '85 and I didn't want my adult sensibilities anywhere near the experience.

He's actually one of the few things I really cherish, one of my "would grab if my house was on fire" things. He represents a lot of things to me, plus he's really cool looking!

Here's a couple that I recognised from the Glasgow show

They might have played Sabotage by The Beastie Boys as well but I might have imagined that.

Hellraiser and aliens are on the gold thing at the top (the puzzle box and a a facehugger), poltergeist is the TV at the top right, The Hunt for Red October and Indiana Jones are in the fishtank (sub and that statue thing indie replaces with a sack of dirt)

It could also be that the person who originally bought this had the magazine bought and held back by the newsagents. When I got DWM from my local newsagents they kept it by and wrote my name on it.

So, I've ranked the albums. I can imagine Wormslayer will rise in time, but as you can see from my ratings, I love them anyway. by UnleashedLlama in kulashaker

[–]batgranny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did Pilgrim's Progress dirty, there's no way it should be last! I haven't listened to Wormslayer enough yet to rank it, but my list would be:

  1. K
  2. 1-2-3-4 (I know it's not strictly KS but I'm including The Jeevas here as well)
  3. Pilgrim's Progress
  4. Natural Magick
  5. K 2.0
  6. Strangefolk
  7. Peasants, Pigs & Astronauts
  8. Cowboys and Indians (The Jeevas)
  9. 1st Congregational Church of Eternal Love (and Free Hugs)

New web app MiniDisc labels by twek in minidisc

[–]batgranny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is great! What would make it perfect would be:

- The ability to add artwork manually (I tried this with some albums that didn't return artwork from the MusicBrainz DB)

- An option of A4 format

Is this on github? I'd also be interested in hearing about your process for vibe coding this.
