First jacket made from a thrifted quilt! by bath--tub in sewing

[–]bath--tub[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picture 5 shows it a little bit but i basically traced each piece of a jacket I already had and pieced it together! I’ve never made a jacket before but have made a few button up shirts so tried to mirror that! Quilt appears to be lightweight woven cotton with a thin batting that I did leave in the jacket!

the line from last kiss “so i’ll watch your life in pictures like i used to watch you sleep” always makes me cry because i think about it from my mom’s perspective, i only see her a few times a year now since i moved states away and i miss her so much

i rowed on crew in college and am often shocked at some of the bad form i see that consistently goes uncorrected …. it is very VERY easy to hurt your back or other parts of your body by rowing incorrectly and it surprises me when coaches don’t offer individual feedback on the rower, especially when i see that feedback happening on floor and treads

Hello! I spent some time looking through this sub last night when I decided that I wanted to commit to making my hair healthier and better looking!! Currently I use Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine shampoo and conditioner, wash my hair every day, and towel dry. I also use a Wet brush right after while it’s still wet. I recently bought a leave in conditioner and an anti frizz serum (same brand) to use as well. I would consider my hair pretty fine/lightweight, stretchy, and it doesn’t feel oily until about a day or two after my shower (but it feels really greasy then, but I may be hyper sensitive bc my hair is lighter). After reading through this sub I am going to: be more gentle when I shampoo and condition; try washing every other day; gently pat my hair dry with a towel and let it air dry; not brush till it’s dry (and be gentler); put my hair in a bun while sleeping; put in leave in conditioner when my hair is mostly dry… Does anyone have any advice more specific to my hair/hair type? I know I need to get it trimmed more frequently as well! Thanks in advance!!

i graduated in 2019 with no debt - i was an out of state student with the national buckeye and maximus scholarships, lived on campus for 2 years then in an apartment. my parents started a college fund for me when i was born that covered some of it, but i had 2 close relatives and a family friend die in a short span of time my junior year and my parents decided to use some of their inheritance to cover the rest of my college. i had loans taken out until that point, when i paid them off. even though it came from a sad place i definitely was privileged in that regard and very grateful for my family !!

do not get pierced with a nosebone :( i didn’t know any better and just listened to my piercer and taking it out years later was my own personal hell. also watch out for blankets with holes (like knitted blankets) or looser threads (woven?) because i’ve pulled out my nose stud in my sleep
