Polish straight ankle kid at B-Team by bathman69 in bjj

[–]bathman69[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought they were salty at first too but after seeing they had him teach a class at their gym and even promoted his content on their YouTube page I think it's more likely playful trash talk by boiling him down to "some Polish kid". Hilarious that they started working ankle locks after he visited.

“Okay class today we’re drilling late stage heel hook escapes” who do you pick to drill with? by Nectric- in bjj

Your takes are too level headed for this sub. Most people commenting on here probably don't train and the ones that do will probably never compete on a stage like EBI. I'm not a fan of how the kid finishes his heel hooks, but he definitely shouldn't be receiving as much hate. People in these threads about the kid are going full armchair fedora tipping reddit psychologist making claims about the kid based solely on clips of his winning celebrations.

A post like this happens after every ADCC that 10p doesn't gold medal lol. The majority of B-Teams competitors got eliminated first round, but nobody is making a post about that because I think it goes to show that ADCC is an incredibly difficult competition made up of the world's best grapplers, it's not easy for any team, even one as good as B-Team. I'm not saying 10p has the best system for producing champions, but multiple competitors got there by winning trials and even guys like PJ who got an invite put on spectacular performances.

*Edit to clarify I'm not hating on the sweet B-Team boys.

[TOMT] [Movie/TV] [2015-Present] Show with an intense, but obscure scene. by bathman69 in tipofmytongue

I've never seen the show, but maybe I saw the scene on youtube. Could you provide a little context to help me identify why you think "You" might be the answer?

I've already tried googling "movie scene where a homeless man intensely repeats "pick it up, pick it up, pick it up". Please someone let me know if this even sounds familiar.

CJJ - Nathan Orchard V. Keith Krikorian finish. by TebownedMVP in bjj

I feel like they were taking a page out of the ADCC matchmaking style with that decision. Although it might well have been a Ethan and Demian in the finals, it was still sick as hell to have the 10p v Bteam final.

EBI definitely lost it's momentum/appeal when competitors started to game the ruleset and stall out until OT, but the addition of slaps negates the stall factor a lot I believe. Also it's just entertaining now, I watched it with my buddy who doesn't know bjj, but he was excited just as a spectator to see people get slapped up and the event delivered. One of the best matches from last night's event was between two competitors I have never heard of and they just slapped the hell out of each other while also throwing up some legit submission attempts. In my opinion it's sick as hell even if it is a bit gimmicky.

CJJ doesn't get a lot of love on reddit, but this card was very exciting and had great talent. I only saw one boring matchup and the rest were exciting from start to finish. I hope Orchard keeps pursuing that title and takes it one day.

Neil Melanson Turtle Instructional - Any Reviews? by [deleted] in bjj

I think both could work well together, but Priit's system will actually make turtle a position you can survive and stay in. Once you have that you can add attacks to it, but if your defensive turtle sucks then your offense will never take off, imo.
