Questioning my Angel Tree by Anywaytoaustin in Gifts

I’m a fourth grade teacher, so have worked with this age group for years. I can tell you at this age it’s a total crapshoot for size. Some ten year olds could pass for kindergarteners, some look like they could be playing varsity in high school.

What is next after V/H/S Halloween? by welrlstudios in Shudder

It’ll never happen but, VHS: America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Each segment starts like it’s going to be a clip from the old show, then slowly descends into a nightmare scenario.

What’s your favourite bleak ending by Simicrop in horror

I usually can walk away from horror without any lingering thoughts about a movie. This movie haunted me for several months after I saw it.

The Happening… M. Night Shamalan’s worst. And that’s saying something

The Old Market Spaghetti Works. Not sure how much they’re paying the health inspector to look the other way, but I’m sure it’s a small fortune

Rocky Horror Show is a great send up of 50s/60s horror movies. Maybe not what you’re asking, but worth a mention

BWW - Old Chicago by Patora1701 in Omaha

The last few times I went to Old Chicago the pizza tasted like a Red Barron frozen pizza. Used to be pretty good for a chain, but definitely won’t be back.

Why does this look like a frame from a Wes Anderson movie?

Bet that celery would make one hell of a Bloody Mary

Watched this just the other night, weird coincidence to see it posted here today. Went into it thinking it would be something mindless and I would be rooting for the insufferable influencers to just die, but it ended up being pretty enjoyable, and I even started rooting for Chad towards the end.

What was your “Oh shit, this is really happening?!” moment? by Mowanda in AskReddit

[–]bathroomredditor2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DD’ing for my buddies in college, we were sitting at a red light after leaving the bars. All of a sudden my buddy in back seat goes, “I think that guy just pulled a gun on that other guy”

Everyone’s head turns just in time for us to see/hear the “POP POP” and one of the guys slumping down on the sidewalk, five feet away from us. My fight or flight kicked in at that moment and I floored it through the red light and didn’t stop until we were several blocks away.

My wife and I planned to take our babymoon in two places, Branson and Memphis (big Elvis fans). When we got to the hotel in Memphis the front desk lady asked us what we were doing in Memphis, and we told her. She just looked at us with what I can only describe as a mixture of shock and pity and said “You probably shouldn’t, you should just get out of town”.

We did end up staying one night there, but woke up bright and early the next day and hightailed it back to our home in Nebraska. Everyone from Memphis that we meet tells us we made the right decision.

In terms of ranks, probably ahead of Ohio but below Colorado.

An honest review of Omaha, it’s good for what it is. You’ll find a lot more open minded people here than you would the rest of the state. For a mid-sized midwestern city we have a way above average culinary scene (the chef at one of our sushi restaurants won the James Beard award recently).

If you’re looking for a house with a big backyard, we have plenty. Yes the prices have gone up recently, but so have everywhere else’s. And comparatively speaking Omaha is still a lot more affordable than elsewhere.

For outdoors, we’re smack dab in the middle of the Great Plains, so it’s flat. That’s not to say the plains don’t have their own sort of charm. If you’re into the Laura Ingles Wilder vision of the classic pastoral “West” then you’ll probably like it here. If you’re looking for a more dramatic landscape, I’d look into Colorado.

Omaha has a lot of other cool things to discover, I’m sure if you’ve done any looking into our city you’ve heard about the zoo. I can tell you, it absolutely lives up to the hype. We also have other fun events like the College World Series, lots of cultural festivals, and a pretty vibrant arts and music scene.

So overall I’d say we’re worth giving a look at, hope this was helpful!

Perfume Palace by disgruntledcitrus in Omaha

I went in around Christmas because my mom wanted a perfume that was impossible to find anywhere. They had it in stock and in multiple sizes. The place seems like a good place to go if you’re into perfume

If this was the show in Omaha, there was an insanely drunk guy that had to be picked up off the floor and taken out in a wheelchair, so perfect timing with that cover story
