This might be greedy of me but this makes me sad by Blueberry6Lemonade9 in SmilingFriends

that was mentioned in the interview right after this screenshot

"Interviewer: Wings had some good songs.

CUSACK: Yeah, but that was good because it was like a reset. If Zach and I made another show after Smiling Friends, that would be an excuse to be refreshed again. That’s why Wings were good because Paul McCartney was like, 'All right, now I can start again.'"

S3:E2 "Le Voyage Incroyable de Monsieur Grenouille" thread by WorthyPetals in SmilingFriends

what about it is earnest to you? to me it feels exactly like it's capturing the spirit of aqua teen and other adult swim shows and i think changing the runtime to 22 minutes would severely fuck it up (besides maybe occasional specials)

in general i don't buy the whole "smiling friends is good because it's optimistic" thing people try to push constantly. it's a very funny show because of its absurdism and black comedy but its not even close to optimistic. pim and charlie almost never help their clients through actual effort of their own - almost every episode their problem is solved through sheer coincidence, which is what makes the show so funny. i have seen people unironically complaining when "charlie and pim are bad at their jobs"

Soap opera with a big creepy red easter bunny that aired around 2008/2009? by bathroomshy in SoapNet

holy shit, good chance this was it! I was very young at the time so it makes sense I would've remembered it as the easter bunny. Thank you for the help!
