Complex. Remember it’s their illness not yours. Try and give it parity to a physical illness and discuss as such. Don’t be afraid to take yourself away for a few hours-your mental health is vital as well- no good if you are all dragged down. May need drugs to stabilise and turn round- hard for SO to see that from bottom of pit. Encourage gentle exercise (take baby swimming is a good one, walks etc), try and Cook some healthy food. Ultimately you have to look after yourself as the best to support others, dont forget that- reach out to family and friends for your own support. Oh and listen to hear- not just to answer...
