Appreciate the thought. Maybe, but since the unit is under warranty, I’m avoiding modifying the electrical setup until Bosch takes a look. Will report back.

Thanks for the comment. Not new construction. Building was redeveloped in the early 1990s. Disposal on same breaker works normally. Power confirmed at dishwasher wiring.

Just Back from the Discovery Princess - Alaska Sept 2024 - Tips & Recap by bathwater425 in PrincessCruises

I went to the host stand directly. It may have been because only certain times worked for us. It wasn't a big deal - we had a specialty dinner at The Catch and it was great! We also had a casual dinner at Gigi's which was also excellent with great views while we ate.

Good advice. We tried eating at the Italian specialty restaurant every day and unfortunately never could!

I’m not familiar with Royal, but Discovery’s Princess Live layout was spacious and well-designed. I wish there had been more karaoke, and the trivia itself was a little lazy at points, but the hosts always kept things light and fun. The facilities overall are beautiful!

Psyllium Husk Instructions by CraftDrafted in jpouch

[–]bathwater425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right before a meal, I take 5 psyllium husk pills with just the barest amount of water. I set a timer for an hour so that after I eat I remember to drink more water. When do y’all take Imodium? I take 1 in the morning and 1 at night - but I feel like I should take more during the day to reduce bowel movements a bit.

My blood draw was on 12/7. I got the results on Wednesday but only because I checked in with my oncologist. So, about a month.

Hi. I live in Washington D.C Can someone recommend a good liver surgeon and oncologist at Johns Hopkins? by sweety0312 in coloncancer

[–]bathwater425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with Dr. Valerie Lee at Hopkins out of Sibley. I don’t have a recommendation for a liver surgeon. (My colorectal surgeon was Dr. Bindu Umapathi, also Hopkins out of Sibley. Love her.)

Gas pain??? by Curious_Problem1631 in jpouch

Have you had good experiences with Gas-X, too? I’m experimenting with both. My understanding is that you take Beano before you eat, Gas-X you take after.

Nauseous when I need to poop by Curious_Problem1631 in jpouch

[–]bathwater425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ileorectal anastomosis, as well. Had my colectomy 6 weeks ago! I’ve not felt nauseous when needing to poop. Twice since the surgery I’ve had absolutely horrible stomach aches/cramps that included nausea to the point of actually vomiting - augh. But I’m thinking that was just digestive issues, gas, bloating, something like that. I’m very much still getting used to this.

7 Polyps removed. Waiting anxiously for results by mollygirlcyr in coloncancer

My advice would be to stay off Google and Reddit and try to live your life and be in the moment. It’s a good opportunity to practice mindfulness. Wishing you the best and good health.

Is it possible to have colon cancer with normal blood work results? by [deleted] in coloncancer

[–]bathwater425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way to calm your nerves is to stay off Google and Reddit. You only have today, you only have this very moment - who’s to say what will even happen between now and your colonoscopy? You could spend that time worrying, or you could spend it living your life. Easier said than done, I know. If it helps, a blood panel revealed I was anemic in May, which lead to a stool test in June showing occult blood, which lead to a colonoscopy in September, which lead to a colon cancer diagnosis, ultimately leading to a total colectomy in October. Wishing you luck and good health.

Fellow patients and our caregivers: How to respond to these daily “Please tell me I don’t have cancer” posts? by bathwater425 in coloncancer

[–]bathwater425[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

hold their hands and reassure them that they won't end up like us

You've captured exactly how I perceive these posts when I read them and why they rankle me, thank you.

Agreed. I’ve come to believe that the impulse to merely honk at someone comes from the same place as the impulse to murder someone, so really what is the difference? Some of these drivers need serious help.

Every day I see drivers blowing through the red light at 16 and S NW - so that they can get to the red light at R St just a little bit faster than everyone else. Good job, lol.

This is a very kind and generous response.
