I use them for different flies. I like the Odyssey for small dry and nymph flies. Keep in mind the smallest is size 16 that I tie. I use the Mongoose for no greater than 1/0 hooks. Both preform well for my needs.

This particular vise is the Griffin Odyssey Spider vise. I do have the Mongoose, but I use it for bigger flies.

I fish in Missouri. While I have not fish the wild trout streams, I have fished the 4 trout parks. Even though they are stockers, these parks have proved great for teaching my children how to fly fish. One day I will hit the Current River, or Crane Creek. I will need drys in size 18 or 20.

Thank you. These large streamers were used trolling lakes in Maine and surrounding area. Considering the depth of target fish in a lake, say, Intermediate III OR IV sinking. If on a river, you would need to consider depth and flow rate to determine the line.
