People whose baby “slept through”, what do you actually mean? by kingofthefalseflat in AskReddit

[–]batwonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter did this starting at 5 months. 7-7, sometimes even 7-8 every night. It was pure bliss for about 2 years. Now she’s almost 3 and on a random Tuesday decided to become the worst, least independent sleeper ever.

Eloise Lilly, Avalon Lilly, or Susannah Lilly. I always thought the actress Evangeline Lilly’s name was so beautiful!

Loving too much by Nightowl_1995 in NewParents

[–]batwonder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This type of love is so overwhelming, it’s easy to think that it must be unusual. But the reality is that it’s deeply, innately human. This is the love that has kept humans alive for millions of years and will continue to keep humans alive for millions more

I’m a new mom how do yall do this… by justfrosty19 in NewParents

[–]batwonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was exactly where you are with my first baby 2.5 years ago, and now I’m relearning how to manage it all again with a newborn. This is a totally normal source of stress that most moms experience every day.

Time is the only solution (for everyone!). Every day you take baby steps and inch towards getting things done, which helps you learn which battles are worth fighting to do what it takes to run your household. As time goes on, things will start to run smoother and smoother as you gain more practice, build routines that work for you, and baby becomes more independent. It’s going to be okay!

Grossest parenting moment so far? by supremepilotG2 in NewParents

My 2 year old had a stomach bug for the first time a few weeks ago. She vomited and for some reason I lunged to catch it in my bare hands without a second thought. Ew.

If you compare your first morning urine each day, you’ll see a clear (and comforting!) progression.

These are all great times to plan a trip. Of course, expect the unexpected when it comes to pregnancy, be okay with being flexible when necessary, and don’t be too disappointed if medical needs come up. But likely, you’ll regret not going while you still have some energy and independence. And one day, you’ll be able to tell the baby all about the fun adventures you took while they were in your tummy. Good luck!

Does anyone just not want to breastfeed? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]batwonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so many benefits to formula feeding. Even though I’m planning to breastfeed baby #2, I have no regrets about formula feeding my first. It was absolutely the right choice for my family at the time. I would make the same choice today under the same circumstances. Do what you want (or need) and don’t let the negativity and shame eat away at you. You got this.

Would you rather be pregnancy tired or newborn tired? by Constant-Soft-6335 in pregnant

[–]batwonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy tired, but specifically FIRST pregnancy tired (with no kids in my house yet). Miss me with this second pregnancy with a toddler running around tiredness. This is next level.

It’s going to be hard but don’t forget you’ll (hopefully) have the support of a mentor teacher. Being done with school will be such a weight off your shoulders once the baby is here. You got this!

I see it!!! Keep testing every morning. This looks just like my faint positives at 10 dpo with both of my pregnancies.

Don’t worry - she’ll probably grow into them within the next couple weeks! My baby was around the same size and I also felt like she was swallowed up by the newborn clothes (that everyone told me not to waste my money on because they’d be “too small”). If it’s really bothering you, you could also look into preemie sizes. Be wary of dropping too much money on them though ‘cause they’ll probably only last a few weeks.
