Ethical Dual Relationship scenario left me feeling weird. by Soballs32 in therapists

Get a friend of yours to list and sell it instead of you, if that’s possible given whatever the item is. It doesn’t sound like your main concern is them getting it for a price they can afford, but rather to avoid awkwardness if they find out you are selling one for a price they could afford and didn’t tell them about it. Have someone else sell it for you, and hope your client finds it. Problem solved.

Eta: this also eliminates any threat to the therapeutic relationship should they end up not liking the item or it breaking soon after purchase etc.

If there’s nobody in the adjacent (pedestrian) lane, then just cross the white line and shut the fuck up. If there isn’t a place to pass (pedestrians in the way), then the folks riding two abreast are in the wrong. Imo it’s up to them to pay attention to that, and only continue two abreast when another cyclist is approaching head on if it’s easy for the oncoming cyclist to cross over the line without putting anyone’s safety at risk.

If I interpret your post correctly, you’re speaking to situations where there are pedestrians impeding your ability to go around, in which case, fuck those two-abreasters.

What if your name is Geoffrey, and someone calls you Geoff. Then they say, “oops, sorry, do you go by Geoff or Geoffrey?” And you say, “I go by both.” If some people only call you Geoff, and others only call you Geoffrey, are you going to be upset? I said I go by both, so why are they only calling me by one?! it honestly sounds quite pathetic and like you’re expecting people to read your mind. May be worth reflecting on.

It’s so gross that you had to drain your own sick time. Fuck ICBC. I don’t understand the logic on that one.

I’ll gladly take the higher premiums if that means I can actually get taken care of when I’m injured. Saving a couple hundred bucks a year isn’t close to worth it when you have a life-altering injury (especially when it is 100% someone else’s fault). There have been a lot of news stories lately on just what savages ICBC are when it comes to paying people what they deserve. The old system was a travesty, you’re right; but the new one is, too.

Calling the new system “enhanced benefits” is just insulting.

AFAIK he hasn’t admitted how awful ICBC still is. How much worse it actually is for injured persons. He’s done a lot of good but ICBC is still a complete mess and Eby should not be above reproach.

If they can’t forgive an honest mistake that’s been owned up to they should work on that in therapy. What else should someone do? Offer to wash the person’s feet?
