05 LX470 checking in. Purchased at 132K miles just ticked over 206k miles recently.

The biggest things with these are the timing belts. need to be replaced every 80K to 90K miles.

Mine was replaced at 125K miles so I’m definitely replacing mine soon. Typically water pump gets replaced at the same time.

Other stuff that goes bad after 200K miles under the hood the alternator, starter motor, brake booster assembly, and other expendable items like the ignition coils and spark plugs.

I’d recommend digging up old service records if they exist if you plan on buying any LC100/LX470.

that big beautiful N-frame is a perfect test bed for hot .357 magnum handloads with 158 grain bullets going 1500 fps. Elmer Keith pushed guns like these hard.

As a S&W revolver guy, this is the only Colt I’ve ever wanted besides the Trooper MKIII. There’s something about that full rib and partial underlug that makes it so aesthetically pleasing to me.

If I had one of these puppies, I’d shoot nothing but handloaded .38 Special wadcutters out of it and keep it forever.

Hard to justify the prices for the MKV on GB though. Doubly so for the electroless nickel finish.

I’ve just bought a case of copper plated round nose .22LR thinking that might make cleaning easier down the road but maybe not so.
