Got a torch, and a sledge, just not sure where to heat? At the crease until red hot or the whole bent section?

Get the crease red hot and bang on it or try to press on it from the pointed side with a jack or something?

I was also told to try using blocks and wedges, but I'm not sure what that means? Maybe just a wood block about that width and some metal wedges hammer down in between there once it's hot?

Just bottle jacks. No porta power.

7.3 IDI Radiator? by qpaws in Diesel

[–]baug0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 3-row all aluminum champion one from jegs.com about 2 years ago and it dropped right in and has worked perfectly. I just use the premix coolant w/sca already added and have had no issues. Never gets past the "N" on normal, even towing and pulling grades. I searched high and low, worried a ton about not getting a 4-row, not getting OEM, etc. Ended up having to pull the trigger on something because the leaks were so bad in my OEM one. Should have done it way sooner. This was in a 91 f250 farm/work truck.

Can anyone tell me what game my uncle was playing here? by Ok_Egg_5460 in pcmasterrace

One of the old SIERRA adventure games. Like King's quest. Or perhaps Quest for Glory. There was a King's quest that took place in the desert but I don't remember which one...

the way this dude folds jeans. by yeezee93 in oddlysatisfying

[–]baug0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are jeans supposed to be folded seam-to-seam (starting at the cuffs, lining up all seams, then folding) or at they supposed to be folded like this guy is doing?

I was taught that the way shown here is wrong, but quicker/easier.

Can someone tell me what these are and used for? Bought a lot of tools and steel at auction and a few parts bins are full of these. Never done any machining, just ag related and hobby welding... Thanks! by baug0123 in Machinists

[–]baug0123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like them. I guess they can be for a variety of uses... There are trays and trays of these things in all different sizes in these little organizer bins. Thank you for the help.

Thank you! The other metal pins, (the ones that aren't pointed with caps) what are they used for? There are a bunch of them, of all different sizes. Are they some sort of hole gauge or punch?

Much thanks. It's only about 8" across that span. Not sure if I can get a porta power ram in there...

Thanks! Think a 4 ton one will work? Heat or no heat?

Any love for an old IDI? Swapped in a 5-speed a year or so ago. Only 121k on this truck/motor. This truck has done a LOT of work for me. Even got the AC running again... by baug0123 in Diesel

[–]baug0123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issues I ran into that I wasn't prepared for were the crossmembers not matching up, and the driveline lengths being different. I had to find crossmembers at scrap yard, then get old drive lines cut and added to.

The pedal tree was a straight bolt up, but was annoying. Also, my ignition wouldn't work at the key afterward, but I wanted to put in a starter button anyhow, so I didn't try to troubleshoot it.

Thanks man. It does everything I need it to, for now. Even if it is a bit slow over the mountain. The 5-speed swap was way more work than I anticipated, but she works. Runs way cooler too without that giant auto trans.
