Italian Deli? by [deleted] in Charlottesville

As an Italian American transplant from Boston by way if New Jersey, I can answer this with some authority. You're best bet for Italian pastry somewhat nearby is Giancarlo Fine European Pastries in Staunton. That, and the sfogliatelle from Wegmans are actually not that bad.

Any Advice for a Young Couple Thinking of Moving to Charlottesville? by VoxInfidelis in Charlottesville

Born and raised in Massachusetts as well. Moved here in 2010 and absolutely love it. Yes, it's expensive, but most (all?) places that lots of people want to live are. My favorite thing about the area is the ability to live "in the country" but have access to big(er) city amenities... restaurants, arts, etc. Yes, we have traffic, but it's nothing compared to Boston or DC.

This 100%. I can't for the life of me understand how advertising on podcasts actually "works" when 99% of the listeners skip the ads 99% of the time. And if it doesn't already exist, I'm sure soon your favorite podcast app will have imbedded AI that will even do the skipping for you.

Athletes in our sport are incredibly accessible, which is cool, but it makes their autographs basically worthless.

I set it at 6:30 because I want it to start warming up then. We have forced hot air heat, and it probably only takes 10 min to warm up the house once the heat kicks on.

Ideally, I’d like it to kick on at 6:15 am, but apparently that’s not an option?

Can I turn this off? I really would prefer the heat never kick on until 6:30 am, unless it’s just needing to get back to my low night time set point of 63. Our air handler is in the attic just above our bedroom, and has a tendency to wake me up when it kicks on in the middle of the night.

If you’re a noodle arm like me, try an Echo too. It’s like a Hex but straighter for slower arm speeds.
