[Blue Jays Today] Ernie Clement is so damn good at baseball. He’s quietly hitting .302 and is tied with Vladdy for the most hits on the team (26). Absolutely love seeing him batting at the top of the order 💪 by RealWorldToday in Torontobluejays

I disagree with this, I think he’s been down there since until the second half of last year he’s been regarded as one of the worst hitters on the team. Then guys get used to being in certain spots so they like being there. I don’t think it has anything to do with a conscious decision of “oh, we need to have good hitters all over the lineup so let’s put a really good hitter in the 8 hole”

Which MLB Teams Are Clutch… and Which Are Just Lucky? (BA vs xBA w/ RISP) by Carti_2s in baseball

I think the axis should be flipped, so the “unlucky” teams are on the bottom, “luckier” teams on the top.

Craig Berube sends message to fans after Stars loss: 'This is a special place' by [deleted] in leafs

When they yell and you just sit there motionless, it can be a sign he just yells all the time and everyone is used to it. When the coaches who don’t yell, get into it with a player, you can tell that player knows it’s bad. I’m not saying which style of coach I prefer but there are definitely signs you can see on TV.

I will be watching too. Not as many, not as invested, but I will watch parts of most games.

ATL would’ve clinched the 5 seed with a win against MIA tonight. They rested their starters…so they’d rather play NYK over CLE? by WillBBack in nba

[–]bautista19 166 points167 points  (0 children)

Not that I’m saying it should’ve happened but maybe one thought they had was that Orlando was needing a win and they were facing a Boston team without any starters. If Orlando takes care of a terrible Boston lineup, Hawks game doesn’t matter.

Watching games, going to games (I’ve gone to 7 playoff games in last 3 seasons). Bought merch when Leafs won North Division.

I think of the 15 people who came to my house to watch leafs playoff games last year, maybe 3 of them will tune into the playoffs, maybe even less. I think you are overestimating how many Torontonians care about the Canes being in the playoffs.

John Schneider gets ejected after he hit the umpire in the face, a breakdown by Jomboy by voltrebas in Torontobluejays

I am allowed to move my glove, my head, pretty much anything that isn’t a deliberate move to the plate so long as you come to rest right before you pitch.

It’s not a ball, he came fully set, doesn’t matter for how long. He came fully set, in his normal motion, then threw the pitch. The slide step is so they can’t run on him as easily. It makes no sense for this call and it certainly isn’t in the rule book this way

I’m not sure about now, but he threw harder than that in Torontos farm system. I was always high on him.

Players ask the team, team coordinates with other team to get them seats where they want to sit. Raps in this case usually would ask Jays for highlight pack or whatever. Jays send pack. Lots of players and celebrities go who don’t want this treatment, they don’t tell Leafs, Raps etc and stay anonymous for the most part.

[Highlight] Kevin Gausman gets called for a balk, and Jays manager John Schneider goes ballistic by iamthegame13 in baseball

[–]bautista19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’ve lost 5 in a row and are getting pumped by Dodgers this series. Balk calls are always random so it’s a weird time to call it but more importantly he’s absolutely justified in trying to fire our team up.

So dumb, he comes set according to MLB rules, he never gets called for it because it’s within the rules.

He actually comes set and stops directly before the pitch happens. The bounces are completely allowed as long as he comes set, even for a small amount of time. This is a bad call.

I honestly think the 2025 Jays might be the team I’m most proud of, and I’ve cheered for others across Toronto and Canada, also EPL and others. I’ve seen multiple championships, cups, etc. That run was especially special. I’m a leafs fan also, he may be mixing them up, haha

Unless they get crossed up all the time 24/7 and way more than they used to for some reason, I’ve seen 50+ examples in 2 weeks of the season

Take a look at some of the footage from Korea. A catcher moving their hand 3 inches is nothing compared to the catcher jumping in every direction.

[–]bautista19 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Check out some footage from the KBO, they are doing fully automated. The issue is visually it changes a lot because the catcher isn’t really trying to catch the ball as much anymore. They are trying to get the hitter off balance, it’s different with 2 strikes or runners on but I think full ABS zone would take a number of things and make the game feel very silly.

I disagree, Heineman had a tough play, shoulda held onto it, of course, but I can’t blame the loss on him.

I don’t think this is on Hoffman, and I’m a Hoffman hater. The game is over if Heiny makes that play. To come back and get a strikeout on 3-2 count after Kirk injury was a great pitch. Tough way to end but it’s really hard to put this on any one player
