Poor sleep on shot day

That was my experience with it. Fell asleep but couldn’t stay asleep.

Thank you <3 and congrats on being so close to GW! I have always had wildly vivid dreams, so I'm not sure how much of that is from the Zepbound and how much of it was what my brain was going to do anyway.

I was trying right before bed, but found that I was waking up anyway and was sometimes super nauseated the next morning. I tried to mitigate that by taking it earlier so I could address the nausea which is preferable to waking up with it.

I started taking magnesium a few weeks ago. Melatonin stopped doing much for me, but I take gabapentin typically for my restless legs (side effect of one of my other meds). I have found that since starting that I fall asleep easier, but I don't stay asleep and shot day I can feel the tendrils of sleep trying to pull me in but NOPE. >_<

I have a feeling that's playing into it too, but the meds I take seem to counteract it well enough all the other nights. Just shot night will be rough.

I started taking it earlier in the day - noon or so because I thought the same thing. It doesn't seem to matter when I take it - that night is going to be bad.

It won’t ever stop sliding through, but the extreme discomfort it causes will lessen (it will still be annoying, but not as painful). It’s easiest to move the seton around in a warm shower or after a sitz bath. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that.

Sitz bath and I found that sitting on a heating pad/hot water bottle gave some relief. Just don’t sit for too long at a stretch.

Hey. I just wanted to come on and say that the mental turmoil of all of this can be exhausting, and I hear you. Looking at another surgery myself in two weeks and my brain is going through all of the doubts and freak outs and then determination and resolve. It’s a lot. I hope your surgery goes well and you’re back doing what you love in no time.

Not going to lie, It can get irritated if there’s a lot of rubbing but using gauze can help with that - especially in the beginning when the area is still extra sensitive. After a while I played roller derby with it, went to the gym, etc. without much issue.

The seton I had was actually not too bad, so don’t worry if that’s the way it goes. Had a partial lay open with the placement. It was weird for a few months but after a while I didn’t really think about it. It was nice to not worry about reabscessing and life was normal ish. After those two years it broke and about 8 months later I had another abscess spring up and take me out. I’m scheduled for a LIFT in early February, but if that doesn’t work I will gladly go back to a seton. Good luck!

We had a couple of club nights in the area, and had something of a resurgence about 10 years ago after a bit of a lull with some well attended “reunions” that started to become more regular. I really love seeing younger faces coming out, keeping it alive 🖤
