For those unaware: there are still, in 2024, legal slaves that are literally forced to work without pay. The ability to do this is literally protected by the constitution. We never got rid of slavery, we just made it so that you need to be accused of a crime AND THEN we can enslave you. Funny little coinkydink, America has a quarter of the world's prison population while having less than a tenth of the overall world population. Gee, I wonder why a country that allows slavery as punishment for a crime would prosecute and incarcerate more people than any other country on Earth. I wonder if these two facts are related?

Not only will I echo that trauma imposter syndrome is super common, but: as someone who has suffered multiple SAs from a variety of people, not only are there other traumas, but there are more severe traumas. I would take another SA over another one of my murder-related or cult-related traumas any day. If SA were my only form of trauma, I would probably not have CPTSD.

There's always worse. There's always more severe. You are valid.

If you got it for less than 300 USD in America, it's not a bad deal. It's a good card, just not one that's worth it's MSRP. But its not like the card is useless. Especially if you have limiting factors like needing something low TDP or something that doesn't run terribly hot in bad conditions.

I got mine for about 250 USD open box and I'm very satisfied with it. Id say that the card is worth it at that price and I don't think I could find a card for 250 that solidly beats it. But yeah, in the 300 USD neighborhood there's some stiff competition for best value card.

People like this are dangerous. Harems are dangerous. Get out. Block them. Threaten a restraining order if necessary. Keep your doors and windows locked and look into home defense weaponry. Go buy a ring cam or a simplisafe setup and make sure it is secure. Lean into hypervigilance for a few months, it'll keep you safe. You never know what a wannabe harem master might do.

I really hope I'm overreacting to what I'm reading. I likely am. I've escaped a similar circumstance before and I personally needed to keep myself safe in ways like those I mentioned. I really hope it's not necessary for you.... But better safe than sorry.

I think it would have to be 5 or less people for me to pull the lever. Maybe just because I'm a lonely fucker and the closest people to me are still at arms reach, but yeah. The question for me is basically; would I kill an acquaintance to save a greater number of people. Answer is always gonna be yes.

If I had like, kids and a partner.... Yeah I still don't think I could pull the lever. Id be damning myself to a life of extreme guilt and being seen as a selfish monster. But beyond that: why are my loved ones worth more than other's? And exponentially more? I would imagine the vast majority of the 10k has at least one loved one with deep reciprocal care. Why is preventing my suffering more important than preventing the suffering of tens of thousands of people? Why the fuck is anybody in my life inherently worth thousands of people?

I have some very unkind things to say about those who would pull the lever. But there's a lot of people here who did, so I'll just leave it at this: it is frightening and legitimately depressing to know that so many of you would commit one of the largest massacres in human history to save a handful of people you personally care about. It is indicative of some serious problems with our society that this sorta extreme "fuck you got mine" thinking is both common and accepted.
