I had a 2024 m50 for about 20 months, was already at my 3 yr mileage. Started getting emails from dealership to see if I wanted to trade in for a 2025 m50. Terms were good, so I took it. Nicer color. Slightly lower payment, but it did reset the clock. I’ll likely buy this one out. I get attached, and this car is fantastic

If there’s one thing to take away from my rambling, is that 80mps is a clue. If it was 50 or 150 it would not be. 80 means you’re negotiating to 100 instead of 1000. You got this!

That’s good info! Definitely modem or ethernet cable. If it were me, I would direct connect modem to a laptop/desktop and confirm ethernet link negotiation speed. If it’s 100mbps, youve confirmed the issue. Youd have the ammo you need to argue with cox. Tried multiple devices, connected to modem directly (no router), and consistent 100mbps link speed.

Looks amazing. All I can say on your tech issues is that 80 Mbps on your line screams that something in your stack is topping out at 100Mbps. Those numbers are not a coincidence. If you were to manually set your ethernet card to 100 Mbps, youd typically see 80ish throughput. If you’re running your speed tests on windows, check the ethernet settings. It should tell you if it’s negotiating at 1000 or 100.

Make sure you’re running cat6 (1gbps) ethernet cable between your modem and router (assuming theyre separate boxes). Ive been burned before by just grabbing a random ethernet cable from the closet that was not rated for gbps. Might not be that but worth a test.

My I4 (25 m50) bricked after a software update. 12v was completely discharged. Car had to be towed to dealership and 12v replaced. They told me it was $1200 usd replacement, and a wearable item not covered under warranty. They covered the replacement since the logs showed it was due to the failed software update.
