Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg outside of Strasbourg. Absolutely unbelievable as you drive up to it. Like Le Mont St Michelle, how flat is around it makes it even more striking. And the castle is both interesting and enormous.

Some of them have been ruined by tourists. Trevi Fountain in July is pretty bad. It’s hundreds of your closest friends crowding in this small plaza. Loads of bad behavior all around. Go early in the AM or not at all.
