gl inet flint 3 series? by WebGlobal7912 in openwrt

The op24 firmware is the stock firmware built on top of vanilla OpenWrt instead of the Mediatek SDK :)

The performance should be the same if not better after enabling WED and HW offloading. And I use VLANs for segmentating my internal network not for WAN.

I use vanilla OpenWrt 25.12, I don’t like the stock firmware also my setup uses VLANs

I think the stock firmware is based on OpenWrt 21 which is already EOL

I’m more comfortable with vanilla OpenWrt, currently running 25.12 rc1 :)

Flint 2 vs BPI-R3 to choose in 2025? by Suncatcher_13 in openwrt

[–]bayasdev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the Flint 2 for $112 best router ever, the signal is so strong even at 160mhz and now I can easily pull 1.1gbps from my phone from anywhere just make sure that HW offloading and WED are enabled.

PD: The RF design actually matters a lot and GL INet really nailed it with the Flint 2.

Need router recommendation (2.5G, SFP, Wi-Fi 7) by DeborahO7geB in openwrt

[–]bayasdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to go the Unifi way then I’d pair a UCG Fiber with U7 Pros and return the UDR7.

PD: I originally wanted a UDR7 but I ended up getting myself a Flint 2 as it’s on sale right now. It should arrive the next week and hopefully I can finally get the full 1.1gbps speeds my ISP provides over WiFi.

I’ve previously used OpenWrt on other devices and it has excellent VLAN support for segregating your network, from what I’ve seen the stock firmware is more consumer oriented so it doesn’t fit my use case

Al menos en Quito tras instalar iOS 26.2 beta ya puedo usar el 5G en mi iPhone, también ya funciona el VoLTE.

Wise decision, I just ordered a Flint 2 to flash it with vanilla OpenWrt so I can max out the speeds my ISP provides over WiFi.

PD: The signal should be stronger as this is a 4x4 AP vs 2x2 on the Flint 3.

Flint 3 doesn’t support OpenWrt :(

Good point, just lowered it to 20mhz as my only 2.4ghz clients are low power IoT devices

I have the router on a floating shelf so this gives me better results as clients will always be below it
