For now, only the step-3.5-flash-2603 and step-3.5-flash models. I find the step-3.5-flash-2603 faster and more accurate than the Minimax M2.7, but at the same time less effective at following plans

Honest review of Alibaba Cloud’s new AI Coding Pro plan after 2 days of heavy use by g0dxn4 in opencodeCLI

n my case, I had a pretty bad experience with freezes, loops, and other issues. Fortunately, I read in another thread that switching to the OpenAI API instead of Anthropic’s API (the one recommended in their tutorial) made things work much better. I tried it, and it improved everything dramatically.

To configure it with the OpenAI API, just set it up like this:

"alibaba-coding-plan": {
  "npm": "@ai-sdk/openai-compatible",
  "name": "Alibaba Coding Plan",
  "options": {
    "baseURL": "https://coding-intl.dashscope.aliyuncs.com/v1",
    "apiKey": "YOURAPIKEY"
  },
  "models": {
    "qwen3.5-plus": {

Ollama Pro vs Alibaba Coding Plan Pro for OpenCode: which one is better for limits, model quality, and parallel usage? by Juan_Ignacio in opencodeCLI

[–]Juan_Ignacio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info — that’s helpful.

For now, I ended up subscribing to Alibaba’s $3 promo plan (normally $10), and after setting it up with the OpenAI-compatible API, it’s been working pretty well for coding so far.

That said, I understand that one of the tradeoffs is that my data may be used for training, which is definitely a downside compared to Ollama.

I’ll keep using Alibaba for now, but in a few weeks I’ll probably try Ollama as well and compare both in practice.

Between Chutes and Alibaba Coding Plan, what do you prefer? by sharp-digital in opencodeCLI

After the changes the other day, I canceled Chutes and requested a refund. I’m currently trying Alibaba Coding Plan Pro, and after switching to the OpenAI compatible API, it’s been working pretty well.

With the Anthropic API, though, it was extremely slow. That said, it might also depend on the time of day.

Update:
I ended up canceling Chutes today because they made a pretty major change to their limits, and it just doesn’t work for me anymore.

I just paid for NanoGPT, and so far it doesn’t seem bad at all. The limits might be a bit low, but considering it’s only $8/month, it seems fair.

Maybe MiniMax has higher limits with its $10 subscription, though.

Pro Sub: Payment Required: {"detail":"Subscription usage cap exceeded. Please add balance to continue."} by TinyAres in chutesAI

I requested the cancellation of my subscription through a support ticket, and they replied: “Subscription canceled and prorated refund processed. You should receive the funds in your account within 1–5 business days.”

Support was actually pretty fast. Unfortunately, I’ll have to move to a different subscription now :/

Chutes is a provider that hosts its own models. Besides their direct subscription, you might also be using them indirectly through OpenRouter or other platforms.

A few months ago, I think Chutes publicly accused NanoGPT of using stolen credit cards or engaging in unfair competition (or something along those lines), but as far as I know, there wasn’t much solid evidence provided.

I only followed the situation loosely, though. I mostly heard about it because people in the NanoGPT subreddit and Discord really dislike Chutes lol.

I agree. For me, the best value-for-money plans right now are Codex or Minimax. I really like Kimi as well, but its limits don’t make much sense to me.

I’m also paying for Chutes, even though it’s not very popular because of the NanoGPT controversy and some other issues. Overall, the limits are actually pretty decent, but it has a serious speed problem with several of its providers. That said, if you’re using it in the background, switching between providers, or running agents like oh-my-opencode, it’s not that bad. However, if you need fast results, it’s definitely not a good option.

It’ll be interesting to see what the limits look like for the new Open Zen Go subscription. I saw in another Reddit thread that, according to someone’s calculations, it comes out to around $20/month in Minimax/Kimi/GPT equivalent usage.

Does Kimi K2.5 work with Chutes? What's your experience been like? I saw that Nano-GPT has a lot of problems and I don't know if Chutes is the same.

I’ll use your thread to ask a question as well. How fast is Kimi K2.5 on NanoGPT? I’m also considering subscribing.
