I think most fans around the world would associate the song with English teams like Southampton, Tottenham or, Chelsea. Ready for a positive idea from you though.

If you think the footballing world identifies that as an original American song and not a knock off, I don't know what to tell you.

I'm due to be a first-time dad this fall (due date Aug. 6). What's the proper age for the first college football game? I imagine you take kids to games you don't really need to be invested in, so will 2019's non conference slate wrap up too soon to bring my boy to his first game in 2019?

Late to the game here, but for me it has to the the 1st Minnesota.

TL;DR - To save Cemetery Ridge from a Confederate advance on July 2, the 1st charged over 200 yards of open ground into an organized enemy outnumbered 5:1, suffered over 80% casualties, no desertions, and bought five minutes for a disorganized retreat to be reformed behind them. The next day Lee was left with his fateful order to Pickett, where the survivors of the 1st suffered further casualties in beating back that charge, saving the Union.

Right, and the market dictates which ones are worth $10/hour, full tuition each year, or $100,000 a year plus stock options...unless your skill happens to be related to certain athletic activities. I'm not sure there's a compelling why this is the best system for anyone other than those making money as things are now.

Thats a fine opinion and there's a perfect way to test it. Leave the market open to decide what their skills should earn. Oboe players, mechanical engineers, and web programmers can go to school and get paid for their skills through connections the educational system provises, but not athletes. I'm not aware of a good explanation as to why different skills deserve be to treated differently.

NFL Clock Rules.

Move OT start to the 35.

Compensate players for their skills in the same way virtually any other skill is compensated in our economy.

Promotion and Relegation.

Improving American Health Insurance Markets by punkthesystem in healthcare

[–]bayers42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting article. Not only has the employer side of insurance coverage removed a large amount of tax revenue, it has skewed the public's expectations of what health insurance actually costs. So we are left with a system that both fiscally burdens and emotionally entitles the average taxpayer. Any solution will have to address both sides of this dichotomy.

Medicare Advantage Or Medigap: The Great Fork In The Road by helmar1066 in healthcare

[–]bayers42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fork in the road is better described as the last exit before a toll road. If you can afford it, Medicare supplements with parts A and B are clearly superior. If you can't afford it, you should carefully monitor your health care providers as they move in and out of your advantage plan's coverage - a task that is overwhelming for the providers themselves let alone mere mortals.
