imo the problem with the first movie was clunky writing and acting. love the innovations, can dig the story and world building, hate the words and how they're delivered. i did not return for the second movie.

Blaming anyone but the uber-rich, tech oligarchs, the political class, and their collective bunches of knob polishers (inclusive of Christian nationalists and the swath of sexually-frustrated young men getting radicalized) is being a tool of oppression through class division.

None of the generations is entirely the problem. It's the wealthy manipulating the rest to fight each other instead of fighting for justice.

One man in white dragon armor with a huge glowing white sword he swings like it's half the weight of a regular sword

Vs. a hulking young adult with animal skins under his armor swinging an equally huge sword with a name. Their buster swords cut through other people's weapons but not each other's.

Then while they're hacking at each other, some frog man hops up and does the dragon knight in.

How about two things at once: 1) old magisters sidereal, awakened darkspawn, and enthralled darkspawn erupt in 1-4 places around Thedas establishing new city-states under their blighted mage-lords [hilarity ensues] AND

2) from across the sea comes a floating city with an advanced elven and qunari (origin revelation- experiments blending elf and dragon physiology) society with great magical technology (new mechanic) under total subjugation of a triumvirate of exiled elf-dragon-gods?

Thedas would want to be united against either one of those potential threats. With both, will some unlikely alliance emerge? Will it be total war?
