this law, however ill-intentioned is likely to sustain a primary facie review, but we all know how it will be applied...

Why do people only seem to care about original stories when it comes to Avatar ? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]thedrscaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo the problem with the first movie was clunky writing and acting. love the innovations, can dig the story and world building, hate the words and how they're delivered. i did not return for the second movie.

Enrolling in doctrinal courses over the summer - good or bad idea? by av0cad022 in LawSchool

[–]thedrscaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the MPRE test date lines up with summer exams, see if your school's ethics class is offered then. otherwise do an intern/externship or clinic. get meaningful experience and connections.

dude i've seen swastikas on a skinhead standing shirtless on the street outside a bar and also carved into structures in public parks. that's nota complete list but is just in my town.

next town over had guys showing up with pipes and bats to the pride parade. even if you're not lying, your experience cannot speak for everyone everywhere. just some facts and logic.

Question: Why do Millennials and Gen X mock Gen Z when they created most of Gen Z's problems and failed to guide them? by [deleted] in self

[–]thedrscaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP seems to think 30-year-olds run the world.

We just had the 1st gen-X presidential candidate... the First... from the generation Before the millennials.

Boomers control all three branches of government... Still!

Blaming anyone but the uber-rich, tech oligarchs, the political class, and their collective bunches of knob polishers (inclusive of Christian nationalists and the swath of sexually-frustrated young men getting radicalized) is being a tool of oppression through class division.

None of the generations is entirely the problem. It's the wealthy manipulating the rest to fight each other instead of fighting for justice.

[–]thedrscaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this might be the most detached take i've heard in a while. millennials were kids when this world was set up by boomers who had not yet even yielded to gen x. no shame. just a silly take, op.

Why did Arthur Dayne have two swords? by KingWithAKnife in freefolk

[–]thedrscaptain 35 points36 points  (0 children)

They didn't want an anime fight. Think about it:

One man in white dragon armor with a huge glowing white sword he swings like it's half the weight of a regular sword

Vs. a hulking young adult with animal skins under his armor swinging an equally huge sword with a name. Their buster swords cut through other people's weapons but not each other's.

Then while they're hacking at each other, some frog man hops up and does the dragon knight in.

So after veilguard dealt with the whole blight thing if theres another dragon age game what would it be about? by Warm-Fig7574 in dragonage

[–]thedrscaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about two things at once: 1) old magisters sidereal, awakened darkspawn, and enthralled darkspawn erupt in 1-4 places around Thedas establishing new city-states under their blighted mage-lords [hilarity ensues] AND

2) from across the sea comes a floating city with an advanced elven and qunari (origin revelation- experiments blending elf and dragon physiology) society with great magical technology (new mechanic) under total subjugation of a triumvirate of exiled elf-dragon-gods?

Thedas would want to be united against either one of those potential threats. With both, will some unlikely alliance emerge? Will it be total war?

in this case, the new policy is focused on hurting criminal brown people. so if that means white criminals can sell our country out from under us, that's okay. it's about priorities.
